Title: Re: More great BB photos from concerts 1969-onwards Post by: Ed Roach on August 16, 2014, 06:23:35 PM Funny that when I saw a few of these from '74 the other day, I thought they were mine! Blistering hot day, stage must have been about 20 or 25 feet high, and that was about the only shots you could get. Some of the ones from other years are great, though. Thanks, Ian

Title: Re: More great BB photos from concerts 1969-onwards Post by: CenturyDeprived on August 16, 2014, 07:37:00 PM Including some rare shots of Carl's last tour I'm glad those 1997 pics are there, but man it kills me to see Carl with a wig having gone thru chemo. I guess I'll try to see it as inspirational that he kept on going in the face of what he was dealing with. Carl was THE FRIGGIN MAN. Arguably the Beach Boys' best years under the sun: Mike Love - lead vocals & skin flute Carl Wilson - lead guitar Dennis Wilson - vocals (up front w/one finger in his ear) Al Jardine - rhythm guitar Billy Hinsche - keys, guitar Ed Carter - guitar Ricky Fataar - drums Bobby Figueroa - percussion Blondie Chaplin - guitar Carly Munoz - piano Title: Re: More great BB photos from concerts 1969-onwards Post by: Lowbacca on August 17, 2014, 02:41:49 AM Those 70s pictures are priceless.. When I saw the second photo of the guys playing in Houston 1969, I couldn't id the bassist until I read your book and realised that this show was part of a tour which included an eight-piece orchestra accompanying the group, including bassist Bob Boyack!

The link was posted some time ago in the picture thread in the media section. There's a lot of good stuff. Check it out. Title: Re: More great BB photos from concerts 1969-onwards Post by: phirnis on August 17, 2014, 05:08:13 AM Man did their appearances change, sometimes from one single year to another. Look at Dennis Wilson in 1975 and then have a look at some 15BO/POB-era photographs.

Sadly, no pics from Carl's solo tour, but don't want to miss these: Waves 1977 show: http://rockinhouston.com/performers/mike-love/471/ NEAT to see the inside pages of that night's program!! Too bad that Al didn't make the two group concert shots, but maybe he only did a small part of the show. What may be the outside cover for the program can be seen at Doug Hennings' performance page: http://rockinhouston.com/performers/doug-henning-tm-benefit/472/ Brian's 2000 show: http://rockinhouston.com/performers/brian-wilson/906/ Title: Re: More great BB photos from concerts 1969-onwards Post by: Aric Keith on August 19, 2015, 06:57:08 PM Thanks, Ian. Interesting footnote: Bob Boyack is my great uncle! In fact I just spent the week at his house. He's got a lot of funny stories, and he still plays the bass everyday, and takes lessons. He told me some stories about taking lessons with our Ms. Kaye.Title: Re: More great BB photos from concerts 1969-onwards Post by: Pretty Funky on August 19, 2015, 08:57:51 PM 1997.
