The Smiley Smile Message Board

Hey there.  Last week I got a private message from a board member requesting I create and upload a mono version of my stereo BWPS 2004 mix of SMiLE (which used all 66/67 material).

He admitted--and I agreed--that that would just mostly be TSS disc 1.  So while an interesting thought, there wouldn't be a very large point in putting in the trouble for that, when one should just support the artist and buy the album! But it did get me thinking that there are some differences between BWPS and TSS, so I thought I'd make and upload "patches" for your copies of TSS so that one could, if they wanted, replace the TSS tracks with these so that disc 1 follows BWPS more closely (if you are one of those who feel that is the SMiLE)

Contained here are the mono wavs of:
- Old Master Painter with Barnshine removed so it can go directly into Cabin Essence.
- Look re-edited to match the structure of BWPS and can lead into...
- Child re-edited to match the structure of BWPS (verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bridge/facsimile outro)
- IIGS/Workshop re-edited to match the structure of BWPS (Cantina intro/IIGS/Workshop) and leads into...
- Vege-Tables re-edited to match the structure of BWPS
- Good Vibrations with the "telepathy" verses edited into the standard long TSS version. 

Everything is sourced from somewhere on TSS set.  Replace these tracks, and you should have an all-mono, all Beach Boys SMiLE following BWPS! Remember that you need to remove track 5 because it is now included in track 13.

I just started a new job (as the completion of my version of Smile is almost within reach) so it might take me a little while to see how much of this I end up needing but I think you in advance because I appreciate the effort and am pretty sure at least some of it will wind up coming in handy. :)
