Title: Who is singing like a frog on "Carl and the Passions"? Post by: Smile4ever on July 11, 2014, 07:01:15 PM This album has a very "earthy" sound. Part of that earthy sound consists of a band member or two singing vocals like a frog emerging from a pile of mud. Maybe this was meant to be a precursor to the mid-90s Budweiser campaign. Whatever the case, it's there. This style is also present in some live performances during that period (of non-"So Tough" songs too).
So did Blondie and Ricky bring a frog-singing influence into the band? Or were Mike and Dennis simply "going through some stuff" and getting in touch with their reptilian animalistic sides?
