CALM AND REW Title: Re: In times of darkness, despair and desolation... Post by: HeyJude on May 13, 2014, 09:09:08 AM I do have to say, awesome sentiment that I agree with 100%, but those "keep calm" posters (and t-shirts, and mugs, and jockstraps, and limited edition jockstrap mugs, and so on) are indeed rather ubiquitous and trendy these days. I would have figured British folks would be even more annoyed. I figured an American going to the UK with a "Keep Calm" t-shirt would be right up there with asking whether your commemorative Charles and Diana plates you bought at the grocery store in the 80's are worth five grand or ten grand.
General rule: If it's available at "Hot Topic", I'm probably annoyed by it. Great, Doctor Who and My Little Pony are now hipster, trendy fake-nerdy now. Still waiting for any BB shirts at Hot Topic; I might actually buy one of those! :lol Title: Re: In times of darkness, despair and desolation... Post by: Tablevega on May 13, 2014, 09:53:30 AM Best use of this sentiment I've seen and I was pleased to see AGD getting thanks from Brian for it.

On a side note relating to your post, I did go to a Hot Topic while I was in america, and bought some bits simply because I was interested and, you know, exchange rate is pretty damn good. But what if it said, Keep Calm and Listen to Oasis or Beady Eye? I'll certainly give you credit there... I hardly know many people that actually know Beady Eye exist. Regardless, that doesn't change the sentiment ;D It's still telling me to keep calm Title: Re: In times of darkness, despair and desolation... Post by: bluesno1fann on May 14, 2014, 01:31:56 AM I. Title: Re: In times of darkness, despair and desolation... Post by: absinthe_boy on May 14, 2014, 04:28:25 AM Yes it's getting to be a tired meme but....
On rare occasions when I am in a bad mood, sad, down...whatever.....often I do listen to Pet Sounds. Because I find that Pet Sounds contains just about every emotion known to mankind, and that 40 minutes can help me get to the roots of my emotions. If a particular lyric or mood hits me more than usual, I know just which emotion is in need of attention. So yeah....keep calm and listen to Pet Sounds.....as posted on Brian's facebook page yesterday. Title: Re: In times of darkness, despair and desolation... Post by: Andrew G. What was the show and catch phrase that was in large print on stage during Knebworth? Would make it from a TV show late 70s then. edit.... Don't Panic from Hitchhikers. Yes... and no - 1939 poster, but it was issued in huge quantity: it's just that very, very few survived (maybe 20, 25). Title: Re: In times of darkness, despair and desolation... Cool! :afro 2nded. I read comments in IMDB trashing her looks. Okay, she has puffy cheeks & obvious skin damage. So what? She's still pretty & has cute smile. Last phrase in Mr. Waves' signature seems weirdly fitting to her character. She independently tapped on the ugly worms without caring what the audience would think of it (I for one thought she did good job, though why smile?).Title: Re: In times of darkness, despair and desolation... Gosh, this is a really good album. Much of its greatness stems from the fact that it doesn't they to be larger than life. It is perfectly life-sized album. I don't buy the downer/somber thing for a second. Life has many facets, the album just reflects that. Carl said the best, on the MiC closing track. Celebration of life.
