Its been often said that Holland was their last true group effort with all new material... after a 3+ year timespan the BBs returned with 15 big ones which gave them their biggest success in about a decade...then came Love you which is unofficially regarded as Brian's solo album with minor contributions from the group and of course their name on it due to contractual obligation. Over a year and a half later came the MIU album which consisted of 2 recordings from the 15 big ones sessions- come go with me & peggy sue; hey little tomboy from the shelved adult child; kona coast which was a remake of the 63 surfer girl track hawaii; my diane from a 76/7 session and winds of change was also from an older session possibly the 74 caribou ranch sessions/ and MIU also contained many tracks that were reconstructed from what was supposed to be a second xmas album. Next the LA light album- good timin was from the 74 caribou ranch sessions, lady linda was what al derived from johan sebastian bach, full sail was a song carl didnt use for his solo album as was goin south; angel come home, love surounds me, and baby blue were taken from dennis' shelved second album 'bambu', sumahama from mike love's unfinished solo album, here comes the night- a disco remake of the wild honey track from 67...and lastly Keepin the Summer Alive- the title track & livin with a heartache were more tracks carl didnt use for his solo album; endless harmony was a shelved song bruce wrote around the time of the surfs up album, when girls get together dates back to the late 60s and santa ana winds from an old session as well/ / /

Seeing as LA was recorded (and released) a good year or two before Carl's first solo album, this statement is inaccurate.


"Angel Come Home" was written by Carl, not Dennis, and was never anything to do with Bambu.


Again, too early: they were co-written with Randy Bachman. Wrong again.

BTW, your post is very difficult to read. A tad more punctuation and the odd paragraph would help immensely.

Its the tablet thing Im usin, my computer wont connect to the net so I gotta use this thing and it sucks. And what I mean was them using  solo songs carl wrote prior to his solo album/ since the BB started doing their own projects in the late 70s, the light album and ktsa consisting of tracks they were writing/composing for their own projects and/or what led to the solo albums post77-83 etc .

Is that a fair analysis tho? MIU was a combination of a couple older songs, and songs that were re-constructed from the xmas songs that were rejected...the light album was a mix of songs carl was doing outside the group, as well as 2 dennis/bambu songs, a mike love shelved number, remakes...and ktsa was more outside songs carl did, a couple older songs and a few more recent collaborations of brian&mike that were amongst several- Its just a shame the MOR/AOR direction that bruce went with the production and and direction .
