Feel free to move, if necessary, just wanted everyone to see these new AT&T commercials:  http://sing.att.com/

Prefer the Percil one. Least they bothered to get the harmonies right.

They've been played a lot on The Masters broadcast. I think they are great, highlighting the best and catchiest parts of "Wouldn't It Be Nice", which is mostly every part!

The Beach Boys sold out long before a lot of you were even born and have sold out many, many times over.

These, actually, are quite well done.

No doubt the Beach Boys are "sell-outs."
From the beginning. Beautiful melodies put in service of extolling the divinity of the spark plug.

I couldn't see it there, but had pulled one up here:  http://www.marketmenot.com/att-wouldnt-it-be-nice-commercial/  I've seen several other ones; obviously, a major campaign!

I was watching The Masters golf tournament again and the commercials were played over and over. I can't believe I'm saying this but I was actually getting a little tired of hearing "Wouldn't It Be Nice"! :-[ :o

It would be interesting to see if there's any sales spikes for Pet Sounds or Sounds Of Summer. You know "Wouldn't It Be Nice" will be a most popular download. Good night oh baby, sleep tight my baby....

I actually felt the same way - every other commercial break had one of the four ads, but it was still cool to see/hear during a mainstream event.  Now, Verizon will counter with a campaign with Beatles music.  It all comes back to:  Beatles vs. Beach Boys.

They've paid their dues. They've been together (in various forms) for over 50 years. They can do whatever they want. The way music is these days, I'm shocked that younger folks still know about the band at all. If it brings in new fans, I'm all for it! Also, maybe the commercial creators just had great taste... lol.

In a world where John Lydon sells butter and Iggy Pop, insurance, I have no qualms about BB music being used in commercials. After all, their music was always about selling a lifestyle (or at least to begin with), so it makes more sense than a lot of songs that are used these days.

I listened to a couple of these and thought they're pretty well done. I like the non vocal one.

What I can't abide is this new trend for horribly over-sincere and over-sung 'unplugged' style cover versions that seem to be all over advertising these days. Here is an example (non Beach Boys I'm afraid). THE worst cover version I've ever heard, used on a Thomson holidays commercial. Every time I hear it it makes me want to tear my ears off. I blame Radio 1's Live Lounge for popularising these sort of cross genre covers, and Lilly Allen for encouraging over sincere delivery. F**k me I thought that keane were bad enough until I heard that John Lewis commercial. At least the BBs haven't received this treatment .... yet.

In comparison these At & T covers are fun and creative.

You're on the money, Ben. I lost count to all the digital fx, it changes every few bars! Would like to have a ringtone of one of these. Only stuff I didn't like was where random strangers had to sing words. Some of the voices are not my thing, but I can dig that because that way it sounds more realistic; if they hired "perfect" singers, no one would take seriously these ads. So very smart move.
Visually, it's also beautiful job, the last one esp. Thmps up to video maker.
