Title: Busy Doin' Nothin' Post by: silodweller on March 18, 2014, 05:04:45 AM Hey all,
I remember hearing an interview with Brian where he stated that he chose not to double-track his vocals on the Friends album, or something to that effect. That's pretty obvious on most of the album except on the title track and "Busy Doin' Nothin'". Still, I am not entirely sure it is Brian doubling himself on the 'chorus' sections of "Busy Doin' Nothin'". "Take all the time you need/It's a lovely night" and "I wrote a number down/But I lost it" sound a little to me like Carl singing along with Brian. Does anyone else hear it? Are there any tracking sheets concerning this particular vocal session? The title song and BDN are obvious exceptions. Friends is my least favorite 60s BB album. Disclaimer: I don't think everybody should feel as I do. Still, that's how I feel about that album.

I love that album I have to agree. There is a distinct tone in his voice on this particular album. Very very relaxed and well delivered. I have great love for this album 'cause it was the first album I heard and REALLY took notice of. I had only associated surf and car music to the group but it was this album that made me divve into my Dad's vinyl collection and start listening to Pet Sounds, etc. |
