Title: Hi everybody Post by: slippingonthrough on February 20, 2014, 08:49:51 PM Hi, I'm Brad and live in Australia.
I thought i'd introduce my self to the forum. I became a Beach Boys fan last year after hearing bits of Pet Sounds on YouTube. I looked it up because Paul McCartney was always going on about how great it was, He was right. So i bought the Pet Sounds cd and now I love it. I have bought more cds since then and the Beach Boys (equal with the Beatles) are my favourite band. In case you're curious i have (i'm still working on my collection) Original Collection: Pet Sounds (2001 Mono/Stereo) Fifty Big Ones The SMiLE Sessions (2CD Box) Today/Summer Days Smiley Smile/Wild honey Sunflower/Surf's Up Carl and the Passions/Holland Concert!/Live in London and the Made In California box set. New additions since then: Friends/20/20 The SMiLE Sessions Box Set Beach Boys Party!/Stack-O-Tracks Good Timin': Live At Knebworth 1980 DVD Good Vibrations: The Best of The Beach Boys 1975 Vinyl That's Why God Made The Radio The Beach Boys In Concert 15 Big Ones/Love You Keepin' The Summer Alive/The Beach Boys Feel free to give me suggestions on what to get next. Thanks, Brad :) Title: Re: Hi everybody Post by: bluesno1fann on February 20, 2014, 08:51:32 PM A fellow Aussie here. Awesome!

Thanks, I'm already enjoying this forum. Title: Re: Hi everybody Post by: Alan Smith on February 20, 2014, 10:18:37 PM Welcome Chris,
I'd keep going hard on the twofers (you can still get 'em at JB for around $15 a pop). Have a listen to Love You. It's a bit of a crowd splitter. Then I'd seek out the Unsurpased Masters series, in whatever format you can find - good hunting - A Title: Re: Hi everybody Post by: slippingonthrough on February 20, 2014, 10:22:30 PM Welcome Chris, I'd keep going hard on the twofers (you can still get 'em at JB for around $15 a pop). I deciding whether to get the "Friends/ 20/20" two-fer or the "In Concert" cd. Title: Re: Hi everybody Post by: Alan Smith on February 20, 2014, 10:26:47 PM Friends - 20/20 is a personal favourite; in my biased opinion, you'd do well getting that one first.

I support this decision. Title: Re: Hi everybody Post by: slippingonthrough on February 20, 2014, 10:38:00 PM ....and tss big box I'll probably get that at christmas time. I think they've stopped making those, right? Title: Re: Hi everybody Post by: slippingonthrough on February 20, 2014, 10:39:21 PM Friends - 20/20 is a personal favourite; in my biased opinion, you'd do well getting that one first. Cool, thanks. People on the forum say the version of Cabinessence on 20/20 is better the Smile version. Title: Re: Hi everybody Post by: mikeyj on February 21, 2014, 01:22:07 AM Welcome! As noted above always good to have more Aussies on the board.
I too would highly recommend the Friends / 20/20 twofer. Easily in the top 3 twofers in my opinion. I'd say it's the twofer that gets the most play in my house. Title: Re: Hi everybody Post by: slippingonthrough on February 24, 2014, 11:56:37 PM I just ordered Friends/20/20! Can't wait for it.
