The girl in the photographs posted by the person claiming to be Dennis' illegitimate daughter has been identified. She is a 20 year old college student living in California, and has been informed that her images have been stolen. Finally, the lie, and the liar, have been nailed.

Interesting. But why am I not surprised?

None of us are... but it's nice to finally have conclusive proof.

So - the person calling themselves "Denni" stole this girl's images, and now the girl in the photos has been informed of this, i.e. she wasn't actually "Denni" ?

No - the pics are all of a girl aged from 16-20 whereas "Denni" claimed to be 27-30 in the same period. One thing everyone said was that she looked very young. Reason being, she was !

Such a bizarre story. I still can not figure what "Denni"s motivation was for all this. Just an insanely lonely person desperate for attention?

Yeah that was my first clue of the charade. She said she was a teen in the 90's but it was obvious to anyone who lived as a teen or older through the 90's that her pics were recent.

Probably so, and for awhile she got exactly that.

I'm glad to know that this situation seems to have been cleared up, and an innocent victim now has her identity back. Not to beat a dead horse(well, not to much), but I have a few quick questions. Who are the following people, and have they ever had anything to do with Dennis Wilson?

Also, "Denni Leann" claimed to have the actual t-shirt that Dennis wore on the Pacific Ocean Blue album cover.

All the same person, as was Sherri Ann Hayes (or Hicks, when she forgot). What have they to do with Dennis ? Nothing whatsoever.

Did she ever try to contact the family? People that do things like this are sometimes surprised to find out there could be laws that apply to such situations.

According to her (increasingly) few rabid supporters/believers, "Denni" is the innocent victim because the girl identified as the the person actually in the photos "Denni" has been posting for some three years has stolen those images and created fake websites to fool us all. OK, let's break this down.

1 - a 20 year old college girl has the inclination, time and technical ability to do this...

2 - she managed to not only steal these photos but actually increased the image area of some to include information (captions, other people, signage) not shown of the "Denni"-posted "originals"...

3 - one of the 'fake' sites is for Rancho Cordova High School, so the girl has evidently conjured up an entire school complete with history and students. Oh, and the Wikipedia entry too...

4 - to construct at least two of these 'fake' sites, the girl has evidently perfected the art of time travel.

My girlfriend and I have been onto this too for awhile, today someone posted the poor victims info on my fb feed and it's obvious that person is who they say but noticed the photos were not the one's that "denni" person shared. She is older and at school in these. So I got to thinking about that Catfish show on Mtv and found this gal left her old myspace around even though she moved onto fb and there I found all the pix the fake profile was sharing. So rediculous. I have a group on fb that this drama spilled over and onto. There are fans that wanna believe that "denni"had her ID stolen because I think they don't wanna believe this is true or are her for all I know. It's just too much high school drama I am glad I wasn't the only one on to it and hopefully putting all this info out there will squash it. I feel so bad for this girl tho who innocently posted her pix and prob has had her mailbox blow up with whacky accusations. I take it you tactfully sent her the jist of it so I am going to leave her alone and not post her ID or info, she doesn't have to prove sh*t and any supposed fan that believes she should needs maybe a moment to wrap thier head around the fact they were had and weren't buddy buddy with a daughter of a band they more than adore.

I think I'll do a little "clean up" on my FB page now....

Been an interesting week: here's a quick round up.

"Denni Leann Howard" - true identity of the girl in all the photos posted since 2011 discovered: 20 year old college student, which explains why we all thought she looked 10 years younger than she claimed to be. She was. Photos taken from at least five different FB pages and web sites.

"Sherri Ann Hayes" - allegedly the best friend: photos of her are also stolen, as above. It's 99% certain that "Denni" and "Sherri" are the same person, going on general poor English and both using the same phraseology.

"Kathy Rogers" - as above. A photo of all three in as car touted as proof is... ah, you're ahead of me.  :)

"Bryan" - the soldier fiance who was killed in action overseas: guess what... yup, alive and well and was at high school with the girl whose images were stolen. Never in the forces.

the wrecked car  that "Denni" walked away from - real enough, but the pic dates from 2010 and was stolen from a Facebook profile connected with the real girl in the images.

Lee Palmer - seems to be real enough but his claim to have met "Denni" in a Modesto Applebees a few years ago is a bare-faced lie as the girl, as we now know, would have been in her late teens at the time and not 27 as claimed.

In summary - "Denni" was, and remains, a fraud and a liar. Her claims to have been a nurse, nurse practitioner, that her father died in 2011, that her mother has had various illnesses (cancer, stroke) are, to be charitable extremely questionable. Her claim to be Dennis Wilson's last child, based entirely on her say-so and an admittedly uncanny likeness to Dennis, were refuted by the discovery that not one single image posted by her, or her friends, and claiming to be her was in fact her.

And yet... people still believe her. Mad world.

Andrew, have you considered becoming a private detective or batman? ;)

Sheri Ann Hayes posted on her facebook tonight that Denni's mom is getting ready to "join her husband"...hard to interpret that as anything but "Denni's mom is dying". I just have to wonder how much longer before Sheri Ann has Denni herself killed off - and them blames it on those who discovered her ruse.

Once the first domino toppled, they went down like drunks on a Friday night, and within the last few hours, the people investigating all this (I'm just one) have pretty much nailed who is responsible. "Denni" made the basic mistake of sending a pic of her mom "Lori" to a few people privately, so it's never been on the net to be 'stolen'. Putting together the available info (which included a return address naming Hutsell: "Denni" claimed she was a friend, of course), turns out that the person alleged to be "Lori" - and therefore almost certainly "Denni", "Sheri", "Kathy" and about a dozen other identities - is actually one Sherry Hutsell. Ring any bells ? Yup, the sherriluvsbryan who broke the news of "Denni's" existence here back in early 2011, then turned against her. Long time posters may recall that Billy looked into the IP numbers and came to the conclusion that the posts of both "Denni" and sherriluvsbryan originated from the same computer.

Nice work to everyone who put this all together. Looks like it's nailed down and probably the simplest answer - just someone who was lonely and looking for attention and admiration. I know there were some people that were pretty emotionally invested in this whole thing and I hope now they have some closure.

I went back and checked Sherry's IP address...it matched a banned member named 'Desi', whose email address had the name 'Desi Leanne'. This was BEFORE the whole Denni mess. Huh.

Anyone remember Barbie who used to post on various BB boards and I think Brian's website as well? She claimed Brian wrote Barbara Ann about her (even though it wasn't written by Brian, of course), that she and Brian dated seriously in the '60s, and that she has a husband or boyfriend in the military. I wonder if this is the same person or perhaps was somehow inspired by her, or came up with this all on her own.

Barbara Ann Watson. Different person, though equally crazy in her own way. Insisted she took the photo of Brian on the back of Holland on her mom's front lawn. In 1963. "Girl Don't Tell Me" was written about her too.

In defense of Billy C., this "Denni" person fooled a lot of people, including Jon Stebbins (for awhile at least).

Check out page 20 of his 2011 book The Beach Boys FAQ:

"(sons Chris and Ryan, daughter Denni born out of wedlock)"

Unbelievable that this fraud made it into print, forever.  Hopefully she'll be erased in future editions.

I'm still confused. In the thread that I posted a link to, Billy says "To be honest, a lot of times I forget that she's Dennis's daughter...I know Denni as Denni . Threads like this, although well intentioned (at least I hope) make me a bit uncomfortable. She's one of the nicest people I know, and this world needs more people like her."

So it sounds like he knows her pretty well. But what about these "stolen" photos (referred to in this thread) that were determined to actually be a 20 year old college student from CA? Did the same Denni that Billy knows post these, claiming they were pictures of herself? And if so, would Billy not know immediately that his friend Denni was not really Dennis's daughter?

Sorry if I'm missing some of the story here. I'm just having a hard time reconciling the info in this thread with the one from July, 2012.

I did see one thread that featured badly Photoshopped pics of faux Denni getting a piggyback ride from the real Dennis. Hilarious. The girl in the pic did not look much like Dennis other than hair color, which could have been from a box.

I was cat fished like many others were. I had many online conversations with her from about 2011 on, as did my wife, and I felt like a complete idiot once I realized the truth.

Don't change the way you are, just because someone else does the "wrong thing." 

You acted "in good faith" - everyone "gets burned" along the way in life.  It says more about the wrongdoer than you. 

People should not change even if someone took advantage of their good faith and kindness. 

Whomever did this was very needy.  And more to be pitied than censured.   ;)

Jon mentioned in the other thread that he put her in touch with the Wilson family. I wonder if any of them actually met her. I feel bad for Jon now too.

What a weird deal.

A lot of us were friended by her on fb, and initially, she seemed very nice. I remember at least once I was online at the end of a crummy day, and she messaged me after seeing my unhappy "status" post, asking "what's wrong, hon?" Seemed to want me to talk and get out of my down mood. I think that was summer 2011. I don't know exactly when all the weirdness started to leak out, I probably wasn't paying much attention. Still is sad to me that the kind person I thought  I sort of knew a little didn't even exist.

No one ever met her. That was an early red flag. True, she was sweet and concerned, but question her veracity, or ask for proof and she'd turn into a foul mouthed harpy in seconds.

There's a guy called Lee Palmer claims to have met her (and more...) a few years ago, something he only recalled last week. Most convenient. They are now apparently engaged. He lives outside Atlanta.

Is the guy who married her the same one who had a tribute page where he posted Photoshops of Dennis and "Denni" interacting? Whoever it was had to overcome the fact that "Denni" was not a young blonde who looked to be in her early 20s, but instead was a middle aged crazy lady, not related in any way to Dennis Wilson, who looked every year of her age and then some. Whatever makes people happy.

Wow, people sent her money?  I don't think I would ever lend or give money to any Wilson, Love, or Jardine offspring, even the proven, legit ones. I spent enough buying the family music.

Final round up - all the fake aliases have gone from FB, and the last staunch supporter, Regenberg, has finally admitted (albeit with very little grace) that he was fooled, and more importantly that he knowingly lied to help perpetuate the fraud. There seems to be a reasonably direct family connection between Hutsell and the girl involved, which would explain how she noticed the resemblance to Dennis. Amazing how quickly it all came tumbling down. A lot of good folk did sterling work uncovering the truth: I'm just the most vocal.

Will she be back ? I wouldn't bet against it. She's that dumb.

The girl was an innocent victim, as were some of her friends whose photos were also stolen and used. She's aware.
