Title: Mike Love on "What's My Car Worth" Post by: Stephen W. Desper on February 02, 2014, 11:44:39 AM COMMENT: Just saw Mike on a show "What My Car Worth" on the Volocity Channel HD. A good interview with Mike taling about his writing of surf songs relateing to cars, with a little Beach Boy history thrown in. He looked in great shape, and was as natrural as I've seen him in a long time. When I knew him back in the '70s he had a green and yellow MG -- he loved that little sport car. Said he never had a surfing style-woody, but his parents had a station wagon with wood on the sides. The interviewer said, "close enough!" Good show. ~swd

Some of the newer shows on velocity are superior to the now defunct fox owned speed channel which self destructed due to an overdose on NASCAR. while Velocity does feature a few silly car guy reality shows, there seems to be some legitimate magazine format show s with interviews and nicely done features. Chasing Classic Cars had several shows featuring the Events around Monterey during August , the week of the Worldfamous Concours De Elegance.
Mike seemed flattered whe the interviewer asked if he appreciated what a large part the BBs played in American car pop culture. Nice. also clips of Steve McQueen and Paul Newman and their contributions to car culture. Very Nice. |
