Title: Beach Boys and the Wrecking Crew
Post by: Surfer on January 23, 2014, 08:55:38 PM
1 Think i do not understand about the Beach Boys is this!  The Wrecking Crew the Studio Musicians.  Why would the Beach Boys want to use them in 1964 through 1967?  I thought the Beach Boys played there own Music so why would you need the Wrecking Crew?

Because Mike lost his tambourine and Dennis started kicking all the drums off of the studio so no one could control them.

Wow I never knew that was the reason - Dennis must have been really pissed.

Not just that, but the Andrews Sisters handled most of the vocals. Partly due to the fact that the Boys were on the road so much but also because Mike, Dennis and Carl had signed 15-year paper round contracts when they were in their early teens and, whenever they were back in Hawthorne, they were obliged to do deliveries. Al had a cold that day.

Keep calm is a very good advice. Good thing about Surfer: He never seems to ruin other people's threads, which I really appreciate.

Thank you Micha for saying that.  As for The Legendary AGD  he likes to bash me because i am a troll.  Why would someone that old want to bash other people like me on this site

Looks like this thread confirms what I've been wondering about for a while - Surfer is a Troll!

Have to say I usually hate trolls with a passion, but I've gotta say that I love the trolls on this forum  :lol

Carole Kaye has a need to play, or claim to play, on every track in recorded history, so her attachment to the Wrecking Crew and the Beach Boys helps her to reach this mighty goal

I heard Carole played that awesome  bass line on " All My Loving"  behind the curtains on 1st Sullivan show For Paul McCartney .. She was hired to do that because he couldn't sing + play it at the same time..!.. Must be true.. Because Paul never looks at his fretboard while he is singing..

Because Surfer IS a troll

We'll, if he's trolling he only trolls on threads he created himself. All you have to do to not become annoyed is don't click on threads he created.

A troll to me is somebody who derails threads that other people enjoy, like OSD did.

So, Surfer, if your question is out of honest not-knowing: Brian likes to work with other people than just the Beach Boys, he seems to find that inspiring. At heart he is a producer, not a performer.
