Post by: b.dfzo on May 02, 2006, 08:35:20 PM No one has singled out "Day After Day"! George Harrison produced it, as well as playing lead slide guitar (with Pete Ham). Also, "Baby Blue" rocks. And there is a reason why Harry Nilsson's version is the one you hear on the radio...he did the best version ever of that song - can't say the same for Badfinger's version, but it's still good. Curious note: I saw the Four Aces (50's male quartet in the style of a dumbed-down Four Freshmen) sing "Without You", and then the main guy (the only one who is a living original member) attributed the song to Nilsson as the writer. Back then, I didn't know the difference, but now it kind of bugs me a bit how facts don't matter a whole lot to some.

If those guys were around today, they'd be doing a theme concert featuring the entire album. I'm currently listening to Straight Up for the first time. It's a very good album so far.
