My Bb Christmas came early this year with MIC, BAD tickets, two Mike and Bruce Shows, a Bruce Johnson autograph of Goin Public, a cool Bb Ball cap, and a Randall Kirsch BB guitar pic.   

I've already said this a million times but I got the "Beach Boys In Concert" book...and this is the last time I'll say it I promise ;)

Two packs of Beach Boys cards - which is more exciting to me than it might sound because I've been looking for these around town since they came out and could never find them.
And a Beach Boys trading card with Brian Wilson "concert gear" on it - some black velvety material

I was also lucky enough to get a Christmas bonus from my work which I blew on:
The Made in California box set (I never even listened to this on Spotify, so I have been in heaven all week listening to all the new stuff and reading the book)

The BB fan's equivalent of coal in the stocking. Jk, a bit. Some useful insights in there but awfully hard to separate the treasure from the trash. I did read it in a few days but I felt like I needed a good shower afterwards.

While I'm aware of this book's shortcomings, it was what finally turned me on to the Beach Boys. I don't know how the original is stylistically, but the German translation is very well written, a great read. Take it as a novel based on facts, with lots of invented stuff in there as well.

I was hoping for Made In California, but no such luck. My birthday is less than a month away, though  :-\

I did, however, manage to get my hands on a 120 piece basic set of BB cards and a pack that had a Mike Love pick in it for Christmas, though. And that made me super excited. I'll take the Mike Love pick over a blank white placeholder in my card pack any day lol.
