Title: Original song: 'Another Christmas with You' Post by: kwan_dk on December 12, 2013, 01:04:45 PM Hey guys
Merry christmas. The Surf School Dropouts have had fun recording an original christmas song with Phil Spector's wall of sound approach. It's called 'Another Christmas with You' and I hope you'll give it a listen here: https://surfschooldropouts.bandcamp.com/album/another-christmas-with-you-single We've used everything but the kitchen sink for this one. 4 acoustic guitars strumming in unison + 2 acoustics fingerpicked, glockenspiels galore, lots of sleigh bells, strings and the odd castanet. And of course tried our best to make the drums sound like Hal Blaine having a field day at Gold Star! ;D There's an instrumental version via the link besides the vocal take... Any opinions? It beats the traditional Christmas songs, which I am sick to death of :lol
Great Job! Title: Post by: zachrwolfe on December 12, 2013, 10:10:25 PM

Title: Re: Original song: 'Another Christmas with You' Post by: kwan_dk on January 04, 2014, 11:32:11 AM Thanks Mr. Wilson. Glad you liked it. I think the bridge parts you're referring to are actually what we envisioned as chorus. That is, if you're referring to the 'Remember last year' part... :-D I guess the song is a bit odd in it's structure which could explain the bridge comment.
Anyways, thanks for listening & commenting! Title: Re: Original song: 'Another Christmas with You' Post by: Mendota Heights on January 04, 2014, 12:35:38 PM A bridge too far.
