Title: Old video boots
Post by: donald on December 08, 2013, 12:51:14 PM
Just watching a video of the Beachboys playing at Seattle baseball stadium in1983.    Was I surprised!  On previous viewings, it seemed to end abruptly.  today, as I'm cooking chicken soup on this snowing day, I just let the cd run on.  when I came back in the room, there was another good half hour of music.    what a great surprise find, right in my own collection!  gotta thank the late great Greg Larson for sending this to me many years ago.    I know many of you probably have this in your collection but justnwanted to share my find with people who might appreciate .  Great Brian footage at around minute 52 on the cd.  Carl doing Youngblood cuts.  Dennis stripped down to his shorts just being Dennis. MSweet stuff.

perhaps we could expand with a discussion of other great Beachboys boots that must be floating around or that are relatively obscure.

Yeah, God bless dear old Greg.  Have no idea what I might have in my collection, courtesy of him.  There are only so many hours in a day,
but I never discouraged him from sending me things.

Be on peace, Greg.  Hopefully, if there's an afterlife, you'll bump into a Wilson or two...

Greg was an awesome guy and a good friend. I miss chatting with him; ironically we chatted very little about the Beach Boys and more about his collection of baseballs.

Two things impressed me deeply about Greg, although I only met him in person the once. One, his limitless generosity (he'd bring, well, pretty much a small store's worth of CDs to a BB event and literally give most of them away)... and two, his brutal honesty: he never blamed anyone but himself for the problems that beset him and eventually claimed him. It wasn't until his last email that he told me exactly how bad things were, and within a very short time he was gone. Whoever suggested the inclusion of his name, and that of Coach Bob, in memorium in the Smile box, and whoever agreed, has my eternal thanks. That was a very classy move.

I was so very pleased to see his name there .  A classy move indeed.
Sounds like Greg personally touched fans across the globe.

Don't forget Greg's BB t-shirts...
