Any love for 3 dog night..?  I was watching  them on youtube with an orchestra last night and I thought they were great.. !! I was a fan in the 60"s + 70"s .. Still got great voices.. Danny Hutton was especially good.. If they played here with an orchestra I would go..

I love Three Dog Night.  ;D About ten or so years ago, I shared an e-mail correspondence with Michael Allsup, the guitar player. Great guy. I actually sent an e-mail to his official website, and he personally answered it himself. He then took the time to entertain all of my TDN questions for the next few months. He told me about the time he jammed with Jimi Hendrix at The Whiskey A Go Go.  ;D

Easy To Be Hard is great. I've always liked Out In The Country and Eli's Coming too. They were a pretty solid singles group I think.

They were a great singles group, don't have any of their studio albums. My favorites are Easy to Be Hard (great vocal from Chuck), Liar, Let Me Serenade You (a forgotten hit), and Out in the Country. Saw them live a couple times in the 80's when Chuck was still with them, although it was Cory who stole the show.

21 Top 40 singles and 11 Top 20 albums (including comps)....not bad. Not many groups accomplished that. Three lead singers, diverse sound. Serious songs, humorous songs. Very underrated; should be the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

Anyone ever notice that the intro to Train's "She On Fire" is an exact ripoff of TDN's "My Old Kentucky Home"?

TDN "Live at the Forum" (and McCartney's first solo album) were the first rock albums I got as a kid. I loved the first 6 albums, then "Seven Separate Fools", which was good but the vibe was starting to feel off. Downhill from there though the hits kept coming for awhile.
