Title: Weird? Similarities between The Four Freshmen & The BB - interesting
Post by: leggo of my ego on November 04, 2013, 08:36:58 AM
Was doing a little reading up on the Freshman and noticed some interesting semi-parallels in the two bands.

Two of the original Freshmen were brothers (Ross & Don Barbour) and one was their cousin (Bob Flanigan)

They didn't come up with the name, The Four Freshmen, their agent did.

One of the founding members left early on when he developed stage fright as the band grew in popularity.

After spliting from the band (to pursue a solo carrer) one of the brothers died (car accident) in his 30's (1961).

Founding member (Hal Kratzsch) died of cancer.

Although the band has continued with various members to the present day, the cousin (Bob)
stayed with the band to 1993 (his 70's) AND after retirement continued to oversee and retained
ownership of the Freshmen name unitl his death (2011).

Stuff kinda gave me the chills!

Tallest member sang the high parts and I think the blonder balding member sang the bass.
