Title: The 'Show Some Love for Seals & Crofts Here' Thread Post by: Summertime Blooz on November 01, 2013, 10:00:00 PM In my eyes these cats are one of the most under appreciated and unjustly forgotten acts of the rock era. How is it that they could have as many hits as they did and the last time (and only time?) their music was anthologized was 1975's Greatest Hits album? That just boggles my mind. They were never cool, but I find their albums to be consistently good- a pleasing blend of Pop, Folk and even Jazz. With their catchy melodies and spot-on harmony, it seems like any Beach Boys fan should really like them. In an era when it seems like almost every marginal artist you can imagine has been revisited, remastered, & repackaged several times over, I would think there would be some love shown somewhere along the line for these two. Anybody else here like these guys?

EDIT: Summer Breeze, not Summer Dreams. Got too much BBs on the mind. I guess you mean Summer Breeze? :-D That's definitely their best known song. Other hits were Diamond Girl, Hummingbird, We May Never Pass This Way Again, I'll Play For You, and Get Closer. In case you never heard Hummingbird: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B412Ij9IAnc Title: Re: The 'Show Some Love for Seals & Crofts Here' Thread Post by: grillo on November 02, 2013, 06:32:00 AM i love these guys! very cool chords and harmonies. they really come off as dweebs in the footage l've seen (check out the live "get closer" clip) so i can understand why they were never considered cool, but Steely Dan liked them, which is a certain kind of cred. well worth getting into.

I've always liked music featuring acoustic guitars and nice harmonies.

Get Closer is also a nice one - kind of a light soul feel.
