Title: Discount Brian/Beck tickets
Post by: kermit27 on October 04, 2013, 03:47:08 PM
I found that the Oakland and LA shows are both discounted on Goldstar. Good discount, too.   (I haven't looked at other cities as I wouldn't be able to make them anyway...)

Sadly, it seems I won't be able to afford it even at $25, but I thought I'd make sure you guys all knew about it.

Those of you still vacillating might was to keep an eye on Groupon too.

I wish I had seen the groupon posting before tonight, but I still have no regrets for paying full price more than a month ago. Saving $100 is always a plus, though.

And for the show at The Oakdale in CT, $40: http://www.travelzoo.com/entertainment/boston-northeast/-40-Brian-Wilson-amp-Jeff-Beck-Concert-Package-Reg-100-1589101/

Not good seeing all these reductions to be honest.

It's good marketing, though. Better to have a fuller house than a less-full one.  Even the Rolling Stones had to resort to last-minute discounting on their last tour to get sell-outs.

A lot of people don't even know these folks are in town without a last minute push that gets in their in-box via Goldstar or Groupon. They just don't pay attention to who's touring. It's not like the old days, where everyone got a print newspaper and saw the print ads or a calendar of who was in town.

The tour is actually selling very well, especially the ones yet to come, most are sold out including the beacon theater.

Obviously some shows are going to struggle to move tickets for whatever reason so discounting is a pretty smart move

No problem. Just don't want to hear the tour is struggling is all.
