Title: Brian bleaching his hair blonde for a "surfer" image in 1962 Post by: CenturyDeprived on September 26, 2013, 07:26:42 PM Somewhere once upon time I read something about this, but I can't really recall...
Does anyone know any details about when and why Brian did this? I'm guessing that he was recommended to him to dye his hair to fit in with the "surfer" sun-bleached image by someone else. The only photo that I can think of is that famous color shot of the band (including David Marks) holding a surfboard. I was 16 and playing soccer on tour in Boston (I'm from the UK) when I saw those news clips 25 years ago! I couldn't believe I was about 45 minutes from where it had happened earlier in the day (gutted I missed it, I had heard adverts on the radio but didn't know where they were playing) and also shocked that Brian was there too. I managed to see them the following year in Glasgow, UK (without Brian).
