Title: Re: Rejected Add Some Music album Post by: Jason on September 21, 2013, 09:55:07 PM Dude, stop dog piling on the guy. All of you. English is clearly not his first language and at least he's making an effort to contribute here. Now, if someone has a problem with that, you can refrain from reading his posts. It's not that hard. He's not breaking any board rules. If this behavior persists you will be banned.
Keep on doing what you're doing, Surfer. All of us started out somewhere as fans. Don't worry about the broken English; we know what you're trying to say. However, there is no CD of the Add Some Music album. You'd have to compile your own CD with those songs. Title: Re: Rejected Add Some Music album Post by: runnersdialzero on September 21, 2013, 10:02:59 PM I ain't pilin' on nothing. Surfer is one of my favorite new-ish posters and I mean that sincerely. Indeed, I understand he's breaking no rules and also encourage him to keep on doing what he's doing.
My apologies. Title: Re: Rejected Add Some Music album Post by: Andrew G. Doe on September 21, 2013, 11:17:56 PM Not to go off topic but this is my opinion and i think you should be banned! Title: Re: Rejected Add Some Music album Post by: Bicyclerider on September 23, 2013, 10:01:14 AM Interesting aspect of the original lineup is the more democratic assignment of lead vocals - two for each member (except Brian, Good Time and Add Some Music which is really a group number).
Title: Re: Rejected Add Some Music album Post by: Ram4 on September 23, 2013, 10:52:01 AM Surfer, a lot of fans have made compilations with all of the available songs from the Sunflower era, which would have been a double album. The latest one I am putting together has 29 songs on it plus I am going to use the acapella versions and live versions of these songs as bonus tracks.
Title: Re: Rejected Add Some Music album Post by: Don Malcolm on September 26, 2013, 02:52:37 PM Here's an example of one compilation of such material I made of this material recently (shortly after the release of MIC)...lots of different ways to "skin this cat," and a few songs listed here are clearly arguable in terms of them being in the right time frame...but it's a fun sequence that in places manages to retain a certain core aspect of the Sunflower LP track order...

Was it supposed to be on ANY album? Just wondering.
Title: Re: Rejected Add Some Music album Post by: soniclovenoize on September 26, 2013, 07:08:18 PM What you could do is split the entire albums sessions into two halves, with an album's worth of songs recorded in a first set of sessions from Jan-August 1969 (most of which was going to be on Reverberation), and then a second album's worth of songs recorded between October 1969-January 1970 (most of which was going to be Add Some Music). Instead of Sunflower just taking the best of both into one album, you could split it into two:
REVERBERATION Cotton Fields Loop de Loop All I Wanna Do Got To Know The Woman Slip On Through Break Away San Miguel Celebrate The News Dierdre Soulful Old Man Sunshine Forever ADD SOME MUSIC Susie Cincinnati Good Time Our Sweet Love Tears In The Morning When Girls Get Together Back Home Add Some Music To Your Day Take A Load Off Your Feet This Whole World I Just Got My Pay At My Window Fallin In Love Title: Re: Rejected Add Some Music album Post by: Andrew G. Doe on September 27, 2013, 02:13:29 AM Was My Solution supposed to be on that album? Was it supposed to be on ANY album? Just wondering. Not to my knowledge, and the recording date of Hallowe'en 1970 would make it slightly tricky to include it on an album released exactly two months previously. ;D Title: Re: Rejected Add Some Music album Post by: Ram4 on September 27, 2013, 08:09:28 AM Here's an example of one compilation of such material I made of this material recently (shortly after the release of MIC)...lots of different ways to "skin this cat," and a few songs listed here are clearly arguable in terms of them being in the right time frame...but it's a fun sequence that in places manages to retain a certain core aspect of the Sunflower LP track order... I am not sure if I would include Sound Of Free since it was recorded after the album came out and you should to include Big Sur. I will definitely include Where Is She, but I am cutting the little intro where he is practicing it. I don't have Sweet and Bitter.
