Title: The BB's 1990s bandmate power-plays Post by: CenturyDeprived on September 20, 2013, 07:58:00 PM I just thought it would be an interesting topic for discussion, to discuss what went down with Al Jardine leaving the band, David Marks coming back, as well as the departure of Billy Hinsche, etc...
It seems there was probably lots of politics involved. Again, when reading Jon and Ian's book, particularly highlighting Al Jardine's early 90s departure and absence from many shows (especially casino ones it seems),it just makes me wonder. remember Dave came back in the mid 90's with the BB's.....but then shortly 'left'/'fired' thereafter....... wasn't he still boozing or drugging or something which caused his leaving?..... I met up with them on one of the tour dates and Dave was in great form, he is great fun to be around. From what i remember it was a few dates after the show i was at that he left/didnt turn up anymore.

The reason given is "attitude problems". No offense, but that kind of seems like a non answer. Like a "catch all" answer to a probably complicated reason that could be quite detailed. Is it something that can't be discussed openly? I guess I just kind of answered my own question...

Now imagine seeing that every night, for about 12 years straight and not being able to effectuate any meaningful change. There's your Jardine "attitude problems".
