Title: New Paley Bros. Release Post by: DonnyL on September 03, 2013, 10:38:53 AM This probably got missed in the MIC hype, but a new release:
http://www.amazon.com/The-Complete-Recordings-Paley-Brothers/dp/tracks/B00DU11F4Q/ref=dp_tracks_all_1#disc_1 This set includes an unreleased track produced by Phil Spector! ... and one of my all time favorite jams: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osWU0DgMDjs (feel free to move this thread to 'other music' but I thought it might be missed there, and is relevant to the Beach Boys) Title: Re: New Paley Bros. Release Post by: EgoHanger1966 on September 03, 2013, 05:47:33 PM I love the Rubinoos' version of Rendezvous. A "lost classic" for sure. Their version wasn't released at the time because the band didn't like the lyric "you and me...we've got a date". Tommy Dunbar told me that. in retrospect, that was a pretty stupid reason to shelve it!
Might have to pick up this Paley Bros. release. I've never heard their version of "Baby, Let's Stick Together" - the Dion take on it (with balls-to-the-wall Spector echo and distortion) is ace.
