I thought it was funny that someone posted how it looked as though Bruce has finally been fired.

Seriously, I can understand having his name on top, but Bruce should be included up there too. Al Jardine must be really getting in his head. ;)

But why would it say SEE MIKE LOVE PERFORM LIVE in huge letters with a tiny little BBs logo under there and no mention or picture of Bruce?? All "Beach Boys/M&B" press pics have had Bruce & Mike at kissing distance for years and years now.

just guessing ... maybe Mike Love is not going to be using 'The Beach Boys' name next year or something, and this is the beginning of the transition.

or maybe it's just some silly flyer someone came up with for no particular reason that Mike's people thought was cool.

He should just bring back Celebration!

When I posted Al's interview mentioning problems with Mike over the license, there was a lot of blow back. Never say never in the world of the BBs. Mike has been downright shitty about the C50 tour in recent interviews. Brian has 4 BBs on his new album. Is change afoot???

That's exactly it.  The ad only appears on Mike's FB...it's not on The Beach Boys FB.  It's a dumb design by Mike's people which it seems they didn't think all the way through.  Nothing more.

At the moment that is so. This 'advert' doesn't even have phone numbers or anything of that sort so is hardly professional.

I think it's just some self-serving promotion, I doubt it has anything to do with Bruce or anything like that.  It is a little strange though.  Like imagine if Al put on his Facebook page

I'm hoping Bruce has defected. I only hope this so people can stop using "BAD". Then Mike will also defect and they can all tour as BADBM (aka bad bowel movement which perfectly describes what the recent lawsuits and spiteful 1-upness from all parties of the last year or so feel like, to me).

If he had then would Mike really authorize something like this which would advertize the fact?

Really? I'm waiting for the announcement of BAD touring with Adele, Sade and Sting! ;)

I read a few weeks back when we were discussing M&B vs. BAD that Mike Love actually needs Bruce Johnston in his band to continue to tour as "The Beach Boys".  One of the provisos apparently is for Mike Love to make use of the license, there has to be at least two Beach Boys in the act for the act to be billed as such.  So if Bruce Johnston has "defected" or at least left Mike's act, then Mike Love is cooked.  Unless the "two Beach Boys in the act" thing doesn't refer to two original Beach Boys?  I mean can Mike Love and John Stamos or Mike Love and Scott Totten be referred to as "The Beach Boys"?  Inquiring minds want to know!

I think people are jumping the gun a little bit on this but if Bruce Johnston joins BAD, that would be enough for me to consider that act "The Beach Boys" whether they are legally allowed to use the monicker or not.  I'll miss Mike Love's presence in the group but if the guy doesn't want to perform with his old mates, then that is his decision and I'd be willing to look at it from the perspective of the chapter being closed on "The Beach Boys - The Mike Love Years" and that the rest of the inclusive group has moved on or forward without him.

Bruce has not left. There is no indication of that.

Why would Bruce ever leave Mike? He loves Mike. All that hand-clapping could not have been in vain.
