For those who have always lamented the Capitol bonus cuts not being issued on vinyl (outside of Pet Sounds), this makes things a tad better. Title: Re: Cindy Oh Cindy on vinyl! They should have spread them out a bit more, but a cool release anyway. Title: Re: Cindy Oh Cindy on vinyl! Title: Re: Cindy Oh Cindy on vinyl! Post by: humanoidboogie on August 15, 2013, 06:19:07 AM I believe Doxy Records is some kind of grey-area label putting out all sorts of stuff on LP now with the vinyl revival and all. Squeezing the entire Surfin' Safari album onto one side of the LP seems like an odd idea. I wouldn't expect audiophile quality but it's a cool package!

"Entire album" in this case means 25 minutes of music. ;)Title: Re: Cindy Oh Cindy on vinyl! It's almost be like putting Weezer's Green Album onto one side though [bar 3 mins] :D Title: Re: Cindy Oh Cindy on vinyl! Not in the league of Friday Music or Music On Vinyl, but still some interesting things.Title: Re: Cindy Oh Cindy on vinyl! The record store I work at got this in; we carry a lot of LPs from this label. Their Etta James reissue sells all the time. Thinking of picking this up, especially for the bonus tracks. Can anyone comment on the sound quality and pressing of the actual vinyl?

I can't speak on this particular release, but I have a handful of Doxy things and they all sound really good. Title: Re: Cindy Oh Cindy on vinyl! Yeah, it's got me really curious, but £20 has me hesitating at the risk of quality... Title: Re: Cindy Oh Cindy on vinyl! Post by: gsmile on August 19, 2013, 08:39:35 AM Anyone pick this up? Thanks for the feedback. I might bite the bullet next paycheck...I'll post pics and sound review. Title: Re: Cindy Oh Cindy on vinyl! Post by: TheLazenby on August 21, 2013, 06:24:33 PM Ah yes, Doxy - geniuses behind "The Beatles' First Single" (the first major exploitation yet of the two out-of-copyright Beatle tracks) and a remastered "Savage Young Beatles."
Oh yeah, that's a must-have.... Title: Re: Cindy Oh Cindy on vinyl! Post by: KokoNO on August 22, 2013, 04:51:38 PM So many bootleg releases coming out in Europe thanks to copyrights expiring over there in certain countries...not sure why anyone would want to pay for these.
It is awesome that they put all those bonus tracks on the other side though. Title: Re: Cindy Oh Cindy on vinyl! Post by: MBE on August 22, 2013, 10:05:36 PM Pretty cool though the volume level suffers on side one from stuffing too much on it. Sound is still pretty good though on side 2.

Post by: MBE on August 23, 2013, 02:22:58 AM Really it's the first two tracks on side two that are cool. Land Ahoy in stereo and Cindy Oh Cindy are what makes this one a cut above. Lost & Found made it to vinyl several times so the rest is dispensable. Very quiet pressing though.
