Title: if they had broken up after 1973 would "Leaving This Town"
Post by: dwtherealbb on July 24, 2013, 11:10:10 PM
have been considered more significant, especially if it was the last song on the album (just like The End was for the beatles minus that short diddy at the end).

Possibly, although I hope in the hypothetical scenario we would've still got 'In Concert'.

I actually kind of wish they had called it quits after Holland. We would have been spared a lot of rubbish and only missed out on two good albums (Love You and That's Why God Made The Radio). The other bonus would have been people delving into their catalog a lot more since the total number of studio albums would be a bit less unwieldy at first sight.

I would not have heard of them should they had broken up in 1973.

Poor as 15 Big Ones, MIU and KTSA are, it'd be a shame to be deprived of Love You and L.A. Light Album. I say they should have called it quits as soon as Dennis died - but even then: no Where I Belong? It's a tough one to call.

Leaving this Town is probably my favorite song on Holland already to be honest.

we would. The scenario would have them touring in 1973 and then when Stephen and Blondie get into an argument, the group breaks up.

Leaving this town is ACE...I wouldn't like to get into a 'which is the best song on Holland' contest, because I love 'em all.

Much as I love 'love you', I could cope with the idea of them splitting up in '73. 'Brian Loves You', Pacific Ocean Blue, probably Bambu and Adult Child could have happened.
