I was passing by a clothing store today (mostly young people' s clothes). They had a speaker outside and out of it came........... You're so good to me!! It's a busy street in the mid of my home town, Halmstad (on the sunny side of Sweden, we call it California of Sweden... ;)  ), lots of shops and restaurants, and lots of passers by... I went into the store and on came........ Wild honey!!! It was almost a religious experience... It felt like the 60's again. Then came....... Darlin'!!! Wow... But unfortunately I had to move on. Certainly not your everyday shopping experience... :)

It wasn't until I got home I realized it was from 50 Big Ones. So if they played the whole cd people must have heard All this is that, Friends, Heroes, I just wasn't and more goodies... :)

I've always found it odd that more stores and restaurants don't play The Beach Boys. They're a pretty nice, soothing band and most of their songs have a certain charm to them, yet for some reason, it always seems so rare to hear them over the speakers.

I remember reading another story here where they were at an airport or casino and it was playing a muzak station, when all of a sudden "Surf's Up" poured out of the speakers.

I entered a 50s/60s diner in rural Gotland, Sweden, two weeks ago as Darlin' was pouring out of the cd jukebox speakers.

My local Half-Price books played "The Little Girl I Once Knew" the other day. Props to them.

Some years ago, I heard Little Saint Nick in a supermarket during the christmas season.

I have never been to a Walmart and NOT the Beach Boys being played

A pub in Glasgow allowed me to hear 'Match Point Of Our Love' in public, for what may be the only time ever.

I had the pleasure of hearing "Sloop John B." piped into the Spaghetti Words restaurant here in Omaha when I was having dinner with Scott Totten in 2009.  Very appropriate!

My local Morrisons supermarket played a cover of Little Saint nick followed by the BB version on Santa's Beard. Odd.

HMV was also playing TWGMTR when the album came out, but I only heard Bill And Sue. I friends weren't impressed by my reaction. They don't like the Beach Boys.

Was in a pub yesterday and Farewell My Friend came on the jukebox...not sure if someone put it on (probably not, there was a hip hop night out back) or if it just randomly popped up, but it was pretty cool

I was in a walmart this morning and heard a bunch of contemporary rubbish  :angry - Worst: some whiney woman with a stutter I guess, she goes

Well, I don't particularly agree with the quote - that thread got locked so rather than let all of it sink into obscurity I rescued some of
the more ridiculous bits.

I'm kind of disappointed that this wasn't about running into Brian at the supermarket, singing to you, "the world's a zoo, what can we do, but try some, buy some..."  :-D

I hear the Beach Boys everywhere. It's never a surprise unless I hear something like "Time to get alone", which I heard in a shopping center once.

Oddest public BB listening experience - "Child of Winter" in a liquor store in Toronto in 2011.

I went to a yard sale today.  I picked out a split second of music from around the corner... the sound of an accordion.  "Great, they're playing Mexican music," I thought.

It turned out to be Wouldn't It Be Nice.  Then the next song started- "Getcha Back". 

That was surprising.  I don't know what BB CD has those two songs in a row...
