Ok-so for those that are interested-I went to the book Expo in NY today and saw (for the first time) a copy of the book I wrote with Jon Stebbins-The Beach Boys in Concert.    Not to brag-but it really looked good.  They say they are on schedule-so should be out around June 18 in the states and around the world soon after that.  Photos in it look great! It was cool to see it-as I'd only seen a proof prior to this.

Also looking forward to this, will the book be released in the UK? I ask as amazon.co.uk doesn't seem to have a pre-order option for the book and is giving the release date as 20 July.

The publisher told me that they are releasing it worldwide and it would be available in the UK a month later -so July 20 sound right to me.

Speaking as someone who works with the same publisher, this book should look great too. The editing they are doing on my Elvis book is fantastic.

Yeah I heard there was a slight production delay, should be showing up any day now, or in a week. I've been through this book publishing/release thing five times now...and its always really vague in the days leading to the actual physical release. Just when you think its going to be delayed for awhile, the book will suddenly show up. So my instinct is that we'll see it ...oh crap i really don't know...but soon.

I looked for it at B&N yesterday, they told it was being released on July 15...

Second, I guess you and TV haven't read any of Jon's books.
Third, I have never met Jon but I have met David. He is as cool and nice of a guy as you could ever meet.

You can already preorder it on German amazon for €31 but the release date of April 15th 2012 does not seem to have arrived yet. ;D

What's the 'deluxe edition'? Do you simply mean the hardcover edition or is there a deluxe edition with vintage ticket stubs from 50 years of BBs concerts, or something? ;) There's only one edition (the normal hardcover 1st edition) listed on German amazon (which I pre-ordered).

Jim's referring to a numbered and signed version I offered (with a special insert) to a small list of friends...but those 50 copies have all been reserved.

Just to make clear:  I have been informed that after some small delays the book is now in the warehouse and will be shipped out in the next few weeks to stores and people that ordered it. So expect to see it in early July.  Sorry about that-but at least it will be available quite soon.  Hopefully it will be worth the wait!

Don't know about Dutch book prices as compared to Swedish, but I ordered mine from American Amazon and that was cheaper than ordering it from a domestic bookstore.

Ian is continuing his research, and has lately unearthed two more shows which, of course, will not be included in the book. They are, however, listed on 10452, with a # notation. One is pretty early. Any further such updates will be similarly documented.

Perfect excuse for a second, updated edition of the book!

Ian, Jon, what's the scoop? I just received an email from Amazon postponing delivery of the book from today until August 2nd. I thought this was all pretty much on-time from what was said a few weeks ago?

As far as I know everything is the same as when Ian posted up the thread on June 21, don't know why Amazon would announce a delay until Aug 2. Books are being shipped from the publisher to various distributors and reviewers as we speak. I received a few author's copies in the mail yesterday, and man it looks beautiful!

 I am with the same publisher and Amazon will periodically move the date slightly forward or backward. They don't alert us to that, but I have found it to be on my correct release date 90 percent of the time.

Jon, you must be sick of being asked this but any update on when your Real Beach Boy book is due to be reissued?

The book arrived at the bookstore where I work yesterday.  So it's shipping through Ingram, at least.

Arrived in the mail today and it was all I could do to flip thru every page front to back and check it out. There's WAY, WAY, TOO MUCH to take in at one sitting.

UPDATE:  I just received an email from Amazon saying they shipped the book today. It is very strange how the shipping dates changed from June 28th to August 2nd to today. I'm not complaining, though. :)
