Title: Endless Harmony Documentary Music question
Post by: Jonas on April 25, 2006, 07:00:06 PM
Is there a list of all the songs used in order for the documentary? There's a song around the end that I can't find in my cd collection and I just need to have it. I don't remember much but it was a slow motion part sort of winding the whole documentary down. Any help would be great.

Could you describe the scene?

Slow motion, theres a part that shows Brian, Carl, and Dennis hugging either before or after a show. (Late 70s early 80s)

The measure is a group vocal followed by a high pitched harmony in the background.

Sorry for being so vague :/

Is it during the Nashville section preceding the bit about Carl dying?

I think it's "Goin' On"

Are you talking about the part where they hug after anouncing the death of Dennis.

Edit: I re-read your description and realize this probably not it.

You're sure it's not the American Band doc you're talking about?

Denny's Forever? Nah, I would know if that was it...unless its totally different from the original.

Is it "Endless Harmony," the song?

I know that they use the "and we sang 'God Bless America'" part in the beginning of the documentary, but I'm not sure if they repeat it at the end.

Well, Forever is the song playing on the exact scene you described. Brian, Denny and Carl hugging backstage. Not slo-mo though.

Must be the song Endless Harmony.

It has the "Slowed pitch" sounding harmony vocals with that extra sweet and high note to cap it off. Only thing I can think of really.

I must confess that I am stumped...

"I don't remember much but it was a slow motion part sort of winding the whole documentary down. Any help would be great."

Errr..... well, it ended with "Surfer Girl"..... there was a little bit of "Wouldn't It Be Nice" before that..... preceded by "Happy Days".....

"Long Promised Road" perhaps?  I used the bridge from that song over a montage of Carl,  "..... trail starts at dawn carries on to the season's ending...."

Alan

HAPPY DAYS is on Brian's IMAGINATION album.

There was also "All Alone," a previously unreleased Dennis track....

Uhh, do any of the documentaries have 'Good Timin' around the end?

If so, this is it. But I can't find a complete version of it...

Well, "Good Timin'" (which is featured in "Endless Harmony" I believe) is the lead-off track for the "LA Album", readily available as a two-fer with the "MIU Album". "LA" is essential for that track as well as Dennis' numbers. It's also on "Good Vibrations - 30 Years Of The Beach Boys" and "Best Of The Brother Years".

Good Timin' is used at the beginning and the end of the Knebworth DVD..... at the end of the show it's over some slo-mo footage of the band.

Alan, I always wondered why there were only 60s footage shown in the beginning, but the concert is from 1980. ouldn't it have been better to put some 70s or 80s material in there? On EH there is quite a bit
Anyway, it's a great concert

You know.... I can't remember.  As I recall, the opening was just to "set the stage" and show a few images of the "vintage" BBs before starting in on the concert itself.  And the closer was a sort of "recap" with some shots from the concert.
