Title: John Fogerty - new album
Post by: Doo Dah on May 14, 2013, 12:08:08 PM
Some singers just have that rare DNA, where they continue to sound youthful well into their 60's. From the upcoming new release by John Fogerty.

The CMA's can stuff it. THIS is the country...and it took an old rocker to show'em how.

Fogerty is still very active not just on the road but also in the studio. But I don't like that he is now also going the re-recording (plus guest star) route. I'm looking forward to the new songs though. Like the one you posted.

BTW John just joined the Rolling Stones on stage:

Yeah, I passed on Ray Davies's recent remakes with guest stars album, and am also passing on this one. I enjoyed The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again, though. Fogerty still sounds fine.

Forgerty was on some live Tim McGraw show on t.v. last week.  They had a bunch of people doing "Born on the Bayou".  Fogerty took every one of the guitarists, rolled them all up, and smoked their ass on live television.  If I was to rate the performance, it would be like this

1. Everybody starts playing.  Fogerty sings the first verse.  10 ouf of 10.

2. Fogerty drops back to rhythm, some other motherfucker sings the second verse.  2 out of 10

3. Two or three guys trade solos.  2 out of 10

4. John Fogerty plays a solo.  10 out of 10

5. Tim McGraw sings a verse.  2 out of 10

6. John Fogerty sings the same verse.  10 out of 10

That's what I would expect. I'm not interested in hearing Fogerty sing with Country Hunks of the 90's or this week's flavor of the month. And it's kind of sad, he wasn't so eager to sing with other people when his brother Tom was still around.
