To be fair to her, his appearance on the show was deeply uncomfortable to watch and she looked awkward as well. On the songs he was inaudible and Brian is not a good person to interview on live TV. These shows are all about having amusing anecdotes to tell so Brian's one word answers don't really cut the mustard.

Obviously you did not see the appearence. Brian just sang... no interview, as expected.... and no interview was conducted...  In My Room performance only.

Just watched it- he seemed on relatively good form apart from a rambling answer to the question 'what was it like to grow up in the sixties and live the lifestyle you sang about etc'

He probably stared at her tits or something. She's an attractive woman.

I didn't watch it the time as you correctly surmised.  :) Because I knew it would be awkward in truth. That sort of performance just isn't suitable for the average TV show imo. Brian has obviously had lots of praise from the press in the U.K. and deservedly so but I can understand some of the criticism and ridicule though. What was it that Jonathan Ross said at the time of Live 8?

'Now some of you may not know that Brian Wilson is performing in Germany tonight. Now I've met Brian Wilson and even he probably doesn't know he's performing in Germany tonight!'

I hope the ladies on the board will not swoop down upon me for saying this, but Alex Jones--right from the start--strikes you as a woman who is convinced that she's much more attractive than she really is, which is about as monumentally annoying as anyone--woman or man--can possibly be. I thought BW did a good job of surviving the particularly odious hipsterism that the two hosts were oozing and I especially loved his very ironic "Yeah...yeh" when answering one of the silliest questions that Alex posed about whether he liked touring. I mean, EVERYONE KNOWS that Brian has troubles with touring even when he's enjoying it!

Actually, I take that back- the guy (can't remember his name) interviewed the Prime Minister and at the very end of the show went "one more thing- how do you sleep?" (for US-ers, our current PM is a despicable ****. I thought that was pretty cool

Anyone see when they had Art Garfunkel on there a few months back?, they got people with the name "Mrs. Robinson" to write in.. like Art gave a cr*p. I thought he, in particular, was very gracious in the face of a very tedious and insipid interview.

It is a very insipid show and Brian just isn't right for hat kind of thing. They want someone who can entertain the dullards as they eat their dinner rather than a guy giving one word answers or talking about the Wrecking Crew.

OK I absolutely have no idea what the word 'hipster' means anymore.  Is it something to do with the Great Ormond Street Hospital?
