Why the 404 Not Found for almost 2 days?

It was server/host problem which I'm told has been fixed.  I apologize for the down time!

No problem, the wait for MIC continues....

Good to have the board back. I thought it was a major coincidence that the board went down right when somebody claimed to have a copy of WIBNTLA.  :-)

And three pages of posts are now missing, plus some PM's

just noticed!

For the first time I am truly outraged curious.

What happened?
Why are posts deleted? Was this a last ditch effort to hide WIBNTLA from the vultures of Beach Boys fanaticism? Does this confirm the existence of MIC? Was it just coinidence that SS went down just as revelations worthy of the Saviour himself were being made? Is this part of an elaborate hoax? Do some forces have too much control of this board and it's contents? Where is AGD?

Is beachboys_fr still alive? Who made the hit for you Capitol? Did you send your brother Mike?

Strange.... It's working on my iPod but I still get an error on my oc using chrome.

It appears there was a move to a new server. It also appears this move started while there was still activity on the old server. So the posts probably weren't deleted, they were just lost in transition. It's possible to access the old server, and the "missing" posts are still there.

It also seems the various errors were related to the move. DNS issues, hosting not initially setup, etc.

And the whole time I was thinking that someone found the cojones to ban AGD, causing a major rift in the timespace continuum, mass divisions by zero, zombies, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria, shenanigans...

I'm so glad we're back online!

Life was dull for a few days without this board. So glad we're back!

Not to mention that there is a parallel universum where MiC is in the shops and gets 5 stars everywhere, the BBs do another 50 years anniversary tour that doesn't skip the Netherlands, Brian finally finishes Pleasure Island, Schrödinger's cat turns out to be firmly alive and well, a horse is being brought in, and finally world peace breaks out.

Would have been nice to see a post like "Hey, we're moving the board to a new server so expect some down time" a few days before the move might have been nice.  Just sayin'.

That is not true. I'm looking at the board on the old server now (it's still up if you know how to get to it), and other stuff was lost in the transition as well. For example, Don Malcom's post here is the last one that's common:

That post, at April 03, 2013, 05:34:15 PM, is the last common one. No more posts on the new server, but the old server has 8 more, from April 04, 2013, 08:17:47 AM to April 05, 2013, 03:17:08 AM.

So, no, the posts weren't deleted, nor were they specific to that single thread. They simply didn't make it over when the board moved servers. The board on the old server should have been shut down, a backup made, and then loaded on the new server. However, the board stayed up and running after the transition started, so posts kept being made there that were never going to make it over (without some sort of manual intervention).

If they just wanted to delete posts, would it not have been easier to just lock the thread, perform clean-up, and unlock the thread? Not conspiracies here, I am sure.  :hat
