Is this something he talked about during Pet Sounds? Anyway, I always loved the idea that he wrote these short sections attempting to evoke or capture a feeling.
Define it how you like, what's your favourite feel? Mine is and will always be the slow section of Child Is Father Of The Man. It melted my mind when I first heard it at the RFH Smile show, and still has a similar effect now. Just puts me in a weird place that I can't quite define. It feels like it should accompany some Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western. I really wonder what he had in mind for this. My next favourite is the intro to California Girls. Maybe Brian's greatest recorded moment imo. Title: Re: Brian's greatest feel? Watching Brian "bop" to it (for want of another word) has made me re-interpret not only GVs but a bunch of other songs; a whole fresh insight into how Brian's compositional mind operated/operates.

Just think of all the many variations of the main piano feel that we've heard with so many different trappings, yet you can go right back to the demo on the Endless Harmony soundtrack and it's just gorgeous and feels so good with just Brian and a piano.
