Title: Tapatalk, anyone?
Post by: Awesoman on March 05, 2013, 11:37:36 PM
Any chance of making this forum compatible with the mobile phone app Tapatalk?  It is rather frustrating trying to post a reply from my phone.

I would really like this to become a thing.  I have the app and use it on iPhone/iPad and it would be really useful for doing so.  This forum is particularly hard to read on an iPhone.

I have no issues posting here on the iPad, but yeah, I agree that it is a pain posting with the iPhone.

I would imagine there is a decent number of people who use iPhones who would benefit from Tapatalk integration.  Surely it's not too hard to set up?

Yeah, it surprises me that you can't use this forum on Tapatalk. It'd be an excellent idea, would make it easier to use this forum on the mobile.

I just started using Tapatalk and its very nice app. Someone please, tapatalkify this board!

My other board has been tapatalked to within an inch of its life. Its look has changed completely and some features have vanished:

I'd say Smiley should think hard before committing itself...

Definitely do not do it. Although it makes it easier for the user, I run a board that had a serious security issue based on the Tapatalk extension. After some research (and a Google search) all of my issues pointed to Tapatalk being the source of the breach. Tapatalk basically denied the problem was them, but it was painfully obvious that the extension was allowing new users to bypass the required admin approval for new accounts. Spammers were able to log onto the board without me enabling the account and post all kinds of crap. Once the Tapatalk extension was removed, the hole was closed and the spam posts immediately stopped. Tapatalk updated the extension so this particular issue may no longer exist (even though they denied it did in the first place) , but I will never add that back to my site again.

Tapatalk compatibility would be a plus.
