Title: what are some BB songs/albums that remind you of another group? Post by: dwtherealbb on March 01, 2013, 05:59:07 PM Some of the stuff on CATP sounds like either Neil Young, Chicago or CSN. Some of their early stuff is sort of like the Four Seasons.

How the hell did Jardine come up with that? Title: Re: what are some BB songs/albums that remind you of another group? Post by: JohnMill on March 01, 2013, 08:44:24 PM "Girl Don't Tell Me" is The Beatles but I've read it was meant to sound that way.

Well, with different lyrics, perharps... How the hell did Jardine come up with that? What song is "Looking for tomorrow" ripped off from? "The Wanderer" by the Kingston Trio. Title: Re: what are some BB songs/albums that remind you of another group? Post by: Dudd on March 03, 2013, 04:02:16 PM Well, there's obviously Girl Don't Tell Me sounding suspiciously similar to Ticket To Ride (though I do prefer GDTM).
Title: Re: what are some BB songs/albums that remind you of another group? Post by: rogerlancelot on March 03, 2013, 04:27:01 PM "All I Want To Do" musically (not vocally) sounds like a decent Rolling Stones song. (not to be confused with "All I Wanna Do")
The instrumental break (moog solo) of the studio version of "Leaving This Town" sounds like it could fit on Pink Floyd's Obscured By Clouds. The cover version of "Rock And Roll Music" sounds suspiciously like somebody farting. "Full Sail" kind of reminds me of Air Supply. Title: Re: what are some BB songs/albums that remind you of another group? Post by: Myk Luhv on March 03, 2013, 04:31:59 PM I think most of Love You could be excellently covered by Beat Happening, though I think it'd be guitar- rather than synth-based if that happened...

Title: Re: what are some BB songs/albums that remind you of another group? Post by: rogerlancelot on March 03, 2013, 08:39:48 PM Keeping The Summer Alive album almost sounds like the Beach Boys. Just not as good.
Title: Re: what are some BB songs/albums that remind you of another group? Post by: donald on March 04, 2013, 08:22:24 AM Keeping the Summer Alive = BTO
Maybe I don't Know and It's Getting Late = Doobies? Funky Pretty = ELO (think of the section "don't worry it's alright..........." When I listen to the Danielson Famile albums Alpha/Omega, it has a Love You vibe to it Good Timin has an Eagles sound to it Title: Re: what are some BB songs/albums that remind you of another group? Post by: dwtherealbb on March 04, 2013, 10:06:38 PM does "It's About Time" vaguely remind anyone of "I Got A Line on You" by Spirit?
Title: Re: what are some BB songs/albums that remind you of another group? Post by: Emdeeh on March 05, 2013, 06:38:31 AM "Goin' On" could have easily been covered by Queen.
Title: Re: what are some BB songs/albums that remind you of another group? Post by: donald on March 05, 2013, 09:53:24 AM Steam Boat sounds very Pink Floyd When I listen to the Danielson Famile albums Alpha/Omega, it has a Love You vibe to it Good Timin has an Eagles sound to it The lead guitar on Steamboat especially sounds like the lead sound on Pink Floyds "IF" on Atom Heart Mother. Can't recall hearing that particular sound outside of those two songs, although I'm sure it must have been used elsewhere. Title: Re: what are some BB songs/albums that remind you of another group? Post by: phirnis on March 05, 2013, 01:08:13 PM "The Spirit of Rock'n'Roll" always reminds me of Huey Lewis & The News.

Darlin' reminds me of Sharon Marie and also of Redwood. Car Crazy Cutie reminds of The Survivors. I Do reminds of The Castells. Can't recall hearing that particular sound outside of those two songs, although I'm sure it must have been used elsewhere. I was thinking more of the vibe of the song as to anything musically specific. Title: Re: what are some BB songs/albums that remind you of another group?
