Title: Calendar's Post by: Coachhill on January 22, 2013, 06:40:00 PM If this has been discussed, I apologize, I looked and didn't see anything. Has anyone ever seen a 12 month Calendar for the Beach Boys?
Title: Re: Calendar's Post by: Mikie on January 22, 2013, 07:17:57 PM Are you talking about the Mike & Bruce show? There's no 12 month calendar, but here's the schedule for 5 so far:
February - 2013 Feb 15, 2013 - Fort Myers, FL - Barbara B Mann Performing Arts Hall Feb 16, 2013 - Orlando, FL - Sea World Feb 17, 2013 - Sarasota, FL - Van Wezel PAC Feb 18, 2013 - Hollywood, FL - Hard Rock Live March - 2013 Mar 1 & 2, 2013 - Lincoln City, OR - Chinook Winds Casino Mar 26, 27 & 28, 2013 - Tokoyo, Japan - Billboard Live April - 2013 April 4, 2013 - Westbury, NY - NYCB Theatre at Westbury April 5, 2013 - Sewell, NJ - TD Bank Arts Center April 6, 2013 - Morristown, NJ - Community Theatre At Mayo Center For The Performing Arts April 7, 2013 - Lancaster, PA - American Music Theater April 8, 2013 - Greensburg, PA - The Palace Theater in Greenburg May - 2013 May 19, 2013 - Salina, KS - Stiefel Theatre For The Performing Arts And there's a date for Brian, Al, and Dave six months from now - there's a whole thread on that one if you look for it. Hi Coach! Title: Re: Calendar's Post by: Coachhill on January 22, 2013, 07:22:20 PM I'm talking about a wall calendar, you always see those places at Christmas that sell dog, cat, baseball, etc calendars. O was wondering if anyone had ever seen a Beach Boys
Title: Re: Calendar's Post by: Mikie on January 22, 2013, 07:46:53 PM No, not even at the Beach Boys merchandise place, like Merchantdirect. I looked at the big selection at a couple of malls near me too too, but no dice. Every year there's a Beatles calendar, but I haven't seen a Beach Boys calendar since Stan Love had 'em available on his web site years ago.
Title: Re: Calendar's Post by: bgas on January 22, 2013, 09:19:36 PM YES, there were Beach Boys calendars made for fan club members in the 1960's.
I have ones form 1966 & 1967. there is supposedly one for 1968, but I've never seen it. I think I posted some pics from them, somewhere in the media section, some time back; but I don't remember where. They're really fraghile now, but If I can do it without destroying them, I'll post some pictures Title: Re: Calendar's Post by: Mikie on January 22, 2013, 09:44:56 PM He ain't talking 60's calendars, Bgas. He wants a current one, like 2013! ::)

Title: Re: Calendar's Post by: SMiLE Brian on January 23, 2013, 03:26:19 AM Making one could be fun, just put your favorite BBs pictures over a plain calendar.
Title: Re: Calendar's Post by: Cabinessenceking on January 23, 2013, 03:39:33 AM this thread got me into 'Calendar Girl' again. thank you board!
Title: Re: Calendar's Post by: Shady on January 23, 2013, 03:39:40 AM I saw one in Tower Records two years ago.
It was pretty awful, only contained pictures from the 15 big ones era and on, obviously unofficial. Title: Re: Calendar's Post by: Aegir on January 23, 2013, 09:36:22 AM I would prefer a 15 Big Ones calendar to a 1965-era calendar.
Title: Re: Calendar's Post by: Mikie on January 23, 2013, 12:58:47 PM Here's what Stan Love offered about 13 years ago. They were nice. Maybe he'll do them again if you ask him!

Very fragile; I'll probably never check it again, as it started tearing when I opened it to scan. Hi Coach! Mikie, do you think June will bring us some reunion shows? These dates conveniently appear to be able to "wait for June" so to speak. Title: Re: Calendar's Post by: Mikie on January 23, 2013, 10:17:44 PM I would love to see that happen, Prof, but unfortunately I don't think it's in the cards.* Even if I don't get to see them together again and if they only did shows in the Midwest and cities they missed during the first go-around, I'd just be happy for those fans to see 'em live. But I see the Mike & Bruce show has a gig lined up on June 1 in Connecticut, mid June in Nevada, and mid August in Hyannis (home of the Kennedy's) so I doubt the whole C50 band would go out this Summer then revert back and forth to the M&B show again. I see the M&B touring schedule is also leaving provisions open for more U.S., Europe, Canada, and Australia shows this year, so the're just getting going.
* I would love to be wrong! Title: Re: Calendar's Post by: NHC on January 24, 2013, 11:55:29 AM Wow, bgas, that's great. Thanks. And now that it's scanned you won't have to check it again to enjoy it!
Title: Re: Calendar's Post by: punkinhead on January 24, 2013, 02:45:48 PM Something that's always bugged me about calendars with a theme like Star Wars or the Beatles, which I have a lot of both is the fact that they're just normal calendars with just "regular holidays" on em. When I get a Beatles calendar, I want one with the birthday's of VIP from Beatles, dates of when tours started, dates of when albums/singles released. Does anyone else feel this way? Maybe I've ran into a goldmine, who knows. ;)

Where'd you see that, out of interest? (Fingers crossed for UK shows...) That's why I said "leaving provisions open". Dunno. Personally I'm not real interested in seeing the M&B show but would like to see Brian, Al, and Dave. And even a gig with the old farts in Al's band, who I grew up seeing The Beach Boys with. http://www.concertboom.com/beach-boys/tour-dates/ Title: Re: Calendar's Post by: AndrewHickey on January 24, 2013, 03:53:13 PM I see the M&B touring schedule is also leaving provisions open for more U.S., Europe, Canada, and Australia shows this year, so the're just getting going. See e.g. http://www.concertboom.com/the-turtles/tour-dates/ (I chose them because they *never* tour outside North America). Mike's band are actually *very* worth watching, though I'd be more interested in seeing Brian and Al together than Mike and Bruce. Ed can you kindly help ??
