On December 31, 1976, Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians did their final CBS New Year's Eve broadcast from the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel ballroom.  After leading off with "Baby Face," they went right into a smokin' medley of "Anarchy In The UK," "Beat On The Brat," and, just to remind everybody where "the brudders" got their songwriting approach from, "Little Honda."

No, just kidding. They did "I Write The Songs."  This is probably the moment that Bruce felt that he'd finally made it to the top of the business, so check it out.

(Lombardo, actually, could be pretty hip at times.  He really did do a 45 of "Is That All There Is?" before Peggy Lee recorded it. I've been waiting for that one to show up on Spotify or YouTube.)

Good performance of this song. Bruce' recording was too shiny imo.
