Does anyone have the Deirdre alternate vocal version.  AGD said it has been bootleged.

There's alternate Deirdre? Wow, that'd be interesting to hear. Off Bruce's songs I'm only aware of a different take of Tears in the Morning which I think is superior to the tame Sunflower v-n.

That's so funny (to me at least) - I JUST HEARD the alternate tears in the morning the other day and wanted to say something about it, and now here's the perfect opportunity!

I like TITM off of Sunflower, but the alternate version without the backing vocals is FAR superior. It's really outstanding - Bruce sounds REALLY good on it, and it's definitely less shmaltzy. Funny thing is that what makes it great is stripping away the very thing that make it a beach boys track (the bvs). What you're really left is with a Bruce Johnston solo track. Interesting I guess. But yeah, I was blown away by it. Really, really excellent.

I liked the alternate Tears as well.  I would love a Sunflower sessions box - the more I hear from this era the more I can't get enough.  Love to have perfect quality versions of these alternate Bruce tracks, the earlier Add Some Music with Mike, Al, and Bruce singing every verse with different lyrics, Big Sur 4/4 time, and especially the Stephen Desper album mix using the special expanded stereo spectrum.  Until then, we'll have to make our version of this box (but it's growing all the time!).
