Jon, is this track available for purchase? Title: Re: Xmas track from David Marks Post by: Jon Stebbins on December 19, 2012, 01:21:56 PM Great track! David never ceases to amaze me! Title: Re: Xmas track from David Marks Post by: FatherOfTheMan Sr101 on December 19, 2012, 02:18:02 PM I'd buy an album like this in a second.

Dave sure keeps some interesting company. ;D Title: Re: Xmas track from David Marks Post by: Emdeeh on December 19, 2012, 03:37:11 PM OK, it works in Safari. Nicely done!

Title: Re: Xmas track from David Marks Post by: gfac22 on December 19, 2012, 04:17:46 PM Listened to this on Facebook earlier, what a nice song. Like FatherOfTheMan said, I'd buy an album like this in a heartbeat. Dave's such an underrated talent. I wish I hadn't written him off as "that kid on the first few albums" for so many years.
Title: Re: Xmas track from David Marks Post by: FatherOfTheMan Sr101 on December 19, 2012, 05:18:13 PM 100% agreed, I barely knew who he was before the reunion, thank god he's finally in some kid of spotlight, just got his last album, sounded great, but this... Is a different level of awesome!
Title: Re: Xmas track from David Marks Post by: the professor on December 19, 2012, 07:47:27 PM Unexpectedly this week the professor is taking care of his dad who is 87 and was just in the hospital. I take this song as a great and magnificent gift of comfort, spirituality, consolation and wisdom. I agree with the parallel to dennis's work. Thank you David, and I really hope we hear this kind of profound , contemplative beauty on the new beach boy album that the professor continues to hope for and anticipate. When I return to LA, I will play it again as I drive through the South Bay. I continue to believe that the Beach Boys music has a special profundity when 1 hears it there.
Title: Re: Xmas track from David Marks Post by: Micha on December 19, 2012, 09:37:20 PM Wow!!! How truly blessed the Beach Boys were! They took the next best kid from across the street in the band, and they got this... After hearing this I meanly thought it would have been better if Dave rejoined in 1965 instead of Bruce. >:D Dave's talent was probably too big to be kept under Brian's rule.

Give the guy a lead next time around! I hope your Dad is doing better. The Holidays are no time for feeling ill. Good on you, prof, for stepping up. And I second your thoughts about including David's compositions (especially a piece as fine as this) on the next Beach Boys' LP. And I'd sure like to see something forthcoming in 2013.
