Title: Your thoughts on "Don't you just know it" by Jan Berry/Brian Wilson Post by: joshferrell on October 27, 2012, 11:38:32 AM I was listening to Jan and Deans "Fun city" cd,there are some great stuff Jan did in the 70's that most people don't know about, but the one song that sticks out (actually two songs if you count the disco song..lol) is "Dont you just know it" with a great falsetto sung by Brian, maybe one of the last ones before messing up his voice, what are your thoughts on this song and your thoughts on other jan and dean stuff form the 70's as well..
Title: Re: Your thoughts on \ Post by: MBE on October 27, 2012, 12:16:47 PM I always thought it was a cool record. I wish I knew more when it was exactly recorded but it was either done in 1970 or 1973. Mother Earth and Tinsel Town are good records too.

One of Jan's best songs comes from this periode: "How, how I love her" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMHb6bB4sn4 Title: Re: Your thoughts on \ Post by: DonnyL on October 27, 2012, 03:25:10 PM it's a sweet jam

I'd rather be shot through the dick by Jon Bon Jovi than have to listen to this sh*t ever again.

"Shot through the dick but your to blame, you give Jan Berry a bad name, bad name."Title: Re: Your thoughts on \ Post by: lance on October 28, 2012, 11:14:55 PM Song is OK, and I like the track overall but Brian's vocals grate on me, I'm sorry to say.
Title: Re: Your thoughts on \ Post by: SMiLE Brian on October 29, 2012, 02:51:26 PM Odd song, but glad to see that Brian's falsetto was still in good shape.
Title: Re: Your thoughts on \ Post by: punkinhead on October 29, 2012, 02:57:09 PM I actually prefer the version on Get the Boot that just has Brian's vocals on it. ;)

Certain vocals by Brian Wilson and Jan Berry are used to evacuate the colon for rectal and/or bowel examinations, and may be supplemented by the performance of studio musicians under certain drug induced bad ideas. Sufficiently repeated listenings to "Don't You Just Know It" may cause diarrhea. The production values of this song work to increase the movement of feces along the colon. Likewise the 10+ minute disco version of "Here Comes The Night" is often useful in inducing seizures and/or strokes while the vinyl lp Looking Back With Love can and should be used for playing Frisbee golf. And catching a Mike & Bruce show performing "Duke Of Earl" can cause cancer amongst hardcore Beach Boys fans.
:thumbsup Title: Re: Your thoughts on \ Post by: Rocker on October 31, 2012, 02:18:43 PM Well, Jan & Brian's version certainly doesn't come close to the original, but it's nice in some stoned way imo.

I just bought it on Tape/cassette and vinyl, what do are those used for? ;):thumbsup Title: Re: Your thoughts on \ Post by: hypehat on November 01, 2012, 06:22:05 PM Flaming pile of the most offensive sh*t I've ever heard. Title: Re: Your thoughts on \ Post by: Aegir on November 05, 2012, 11:00:48 AM This is definitely a very transitional falsetto. Sounds like a cross between his singing on "Forever" and his response vocals on "Chapel of Love".
