Hi, friends, alumni and fellow rock & roll people,

Apparently, someone has a stash of the old Dick Clark
Saturday night Beech-Nut shows posted on YouTube,
although, also apparently, they are under attack from a
or the copyright holder(s) - so catch these clips fast:

Artists who we don't remember as ever being young are
young again here - a boyish Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash
with gravitas before his time, Jerry Lee Lewis (the only
actual non-lip-synched artist I remember seeing on the show,
in the same state here), Ronnie Hawkins & The Hawks (yes,
with Levon Helm, Robbie Robertson, and either Rick Danko
or Garth Hudson - can't tell w/o the beard), Santo & Johnny,
The Silhouettes, The Coasters, The Skyliners and on and on.

This is priceless stuff; even with the lip-synching, in
some cases these are the only moving images of these artists
in their hit-making days to be found anywhere.

Grab these before they get taken down - and tell your
music-loving friends.

By the way, I don't want to admit to how many of these I
saw live sitting in front of the TV on lonely Saturday
nights in my early high school days!  <<
