Title: Just got a tickemaster alert for the Beach Boys in Sewell NJ in April 2013! Post by: Tony S on October 01, 2012, 05:04:07 AM Wow, talk about not wasting any time! No reference to whether this is the "original" Beach Boys or Mike Love's touring version, but Love has played this location in the past with his touring Beach Boys so I'm assuming it's his band and not the originals. I won't be attending.

Post by: guitarfool2002 on October 01, 2012, 11:45:27 PM Did online reselling of tickets suddenly make "scalping" a *legal* activity? Face value from Ticketmaster on this show's tickets seems to be somewhere around 50 to 70 dollars. Yet an online reseller (not naming names, simple search) is selling the same tickets starting around 100 and going up to 300+ per ticket.
Outrageous. Title: Re: Just got a tickemaster alert for the Beach Boys in Sewell NJ in April 2013! Yet an online reseller (not naming names, simple search) is selling the same tickets starting around 100 and going up to 300+ per ticket. Outrageous. This has been going on for ages. Concerts, not even necessarily "bigger" concerts, sell out in a matter of fucking seconds. Twenty minutes later, there are suddenly dozens of tickets on others sites for twice the value they were originally. Fucking criminal. Title: Re: Just got a tickemaster alert for the Beach Boys in Sewell NJ in April 2013! Post by: KittyKat on October 02, 2012, 04:10:04 PM Scalping is only a crime if it's done on the day of the show, in person, within close distance of the venue. Otherwise, reselling tickets in advance for over face value is perfectly legal. In fact, StubHub, a major ticket reseller, is authorized by major ticketing agencies to handle those sales, and is even linked from some regular ticket selling sites. Ticketmaster owns TicketNow to handle resales of their seats.
