Title: Gene Pitney Post by: EgoHanger1966 on September 14, 2012, 06:41:36 PM Any Gene Pitney fans around these parts. This guy was a master of melodramatic three minute pop symphonies. His voice is so powerful that sometimes it verges on operatic. I'll post a few of his best/most well knwown ballads below.

I so badly wish I wrote that. I have to let everyone know I didn't, though,
when I break it out during a sing-along. It's just so good. The changes, once it gets to the "Day and night, night and day..." part, are so satisfying. Gene plays some fine drums. Every breath I take is one of my favorite all- time songs. I first heard that on Back to Mono. It's like Gene Pitney doing a Drfiters record. Gary Chester plays some fine drums. Title: Re: Gene Pitney Post by: Ron on September 16, 2012, 12:08:53 AM I always liked him. Pretty much every single of his I liked. My favorite thought is "24 hours from tulsa". I like Dusty Springfield's version better, but he had the original.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIjUaxP7PPE Very original song, strange as hell. Here's Dusty burning it down. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Q9DSFu6eCQ HOW TO SING, 101.
