Title: Original Roll Plymouth Rock vocal on "Holidays". Post by: Dove Nested Towers on August 31, 2012, 10:36:59 PM Apparently at least one high-level aficionado has reported hearing an original '66/'67 version of "Holidays" with a faintly audible rendition of the BWPS "Rock, rock, roll, Plymouth Rock, roll over" lyric sung over the verses. I'm highly skeptical (heard this anecdotally) and if true, curious as to why it wasn't on TSS. Might have never made it to those assembling the box (even though this person was well connected), for various reasons that make some sense to me. Would be a relatively interesting piece to have/hear, if true. Anyone know anything? Excuse me if this has been covered before.

It's not the "Plymouth Rock" chant (some people thought it was, but most didn't), nor is it really anything anyone else can recognize and may not even be worth reading into much. 'tis indeed on TSS, though.
... unless this person was talking about something else. No idear. Title: Re: Original Roll Plymouth Rock vocal on \ Post by: Bill Tobelman on September 01, 2012, 08:45:02 AM This is a fun mix.

To me the bit he sings sounds like the "pretty things like incents and flowers" line from Our Sweet Love. I haven't heard anyone claim this but may have missed those threads. Can anyone back this up? It's just the same Holidays melody everyone knows'tain't, as far as I (and others) can tell. It really does sound similar to (it's not exact) part of the "Our Sweet Love" melody, but I'd bet my testicles that's just a coincidence, kupo.
