You thoughts about them? Title: Re: The Clash Post by: Mitchell on April 18, 2006, 05:53:23 AM I like them but I am not really a fan. I have the US Clash and London Calling on CD, along with 2/3 of Sandinista! and Combat Rock on LP. I haven't really listened to them in a while, though.

Heroes to me in my rock and roll youth, the records more than hold up twenty five-thirty years later, it's some of the most exciting music ever recorded. I'll never forget the Bonds residency, summer of '81, that was their peak. They had such an aura about them, and most of the folks I knew were in awe of them, as was the press, they were all over the news at that time. I saw them four times between '80 and '82. Losing Joe a few years ago was a huge kick in the stomach for me. There'll never be another Joe Strummer.
