I'd swap out "Ob La Di" for "Glass Onion", "Blackbird" for "Martha My Dear", and "Long Long Long" for "Sexy Sadie".. or "Cry Baby Cry". 2 best later period Lennon songs imo. I'm a hardcore Beatles fan but I don't think I've ever listened to Long Long Long in it's entirety. In fact, I'm planning on filling 2 whole sides of a 90 -minute cassette with Revolution no.9 , and this I will listen to on a continuous loop and I will allow It to wash over me as I notice my formation of complete, and clarified thoughts. It will provide me with an atmosphere of calmness. I calmness. the real song on the album. and the greatest! I dig what you're saying, but I couldn't include it on a 40 minute comp. it's just HAnds donw too long! you're nuts if you think it isn't halblainisgood. Look at all those other songs - you'd have to remove 7 minutes worth on top of the 40 minute cut to add Revolution 9. Part of why I love The White Album so gosh darn much is just how large it feels. its a long, sprawling story that is tied together in the atmosphere the track create by being side by side. I just dunno how to condense and still retain that feeling.
