Title: Interesting story about the 1983 tour Post by: Jay on July 28, 2012, 09:42:35 PM I found an interesting article where somebody claims that Dennis sang "Forever" at an August 1983 show. I VERY highly doubt this, but I thought I'd see what everybody here has to say about it. What do you guys think? Is it plausible in any way? http://www.maybellinebook.com/2012/05/beach-boys-1983-spirit-of-america-tour.html

Title: Re: Interesting story about the 1983 tour Post by: Jay on July 28, 2012, 10:13:08 PM "You Are So Beautiful", maybe. I didn't think about that. That makes a lot more sense. Title: Re: Interesting story about the 1983 tour Post by: Mikie on July 28, 2012, 10:59:19 PM I saw The Boys in San Francisco in July, 1983 and Dennis didn't sing "Forever". Nor did he sing it in Santa Barbara, Napa, or Costa Mesa. And after that he wasn't at the Pomona or Hollywood California (or any other shows) with the band. So that kinda discounts that statement.
Title: Re: Interesting story about the 1983 tour Post by: Don Malcolm on July 28, 2012, 11:00:08 PM Isn't the footage of Dennis singing YASB in the Malcolm Leo documentary from their July 4th show in Atlantic City in '83 (the year that James Watt had the replaced in DC)? His declining state was extremely visible, and (sadly) his performance reflected that fact.

The clip of Carl thanking the audience and the band performing Barbara Ann is from Atlantic City. |
