Title: Pet Sounds now available in 24-bit HD

This is the Mark Linett stereo mix of the album only (no bonus tracks).  I bought the DVD-Audio many years ago, and it sounds fantastic.

I hate to ask the obvious question here, but is this a new mix?

Kinda sounds like it to me...

Maybe (and probably) i'm wrong.

Same mix. Note the 1996 date before 2012.
The double tracked version of You Still Believe In Me is used - and that only appears on the latest MoFi edition of Pet Sounds. It's probably a HD version of that.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is this? Is it just a better quality Pet Sounds? Is it worth it (when I have about 6 different Pet Sounds versions)?

I'm a bit in the dark too… is this in higher quality than the recent OMR/mfsl release, or simply a download of the same? I've been playing that disc most of the day and it IS glorious.

The OMR/MFSL release was a Super Audio CD, which is also a 24-bit medium. Basically, this is just a FLAC download of the same 24-bit program.

I do wonder how the new mix of You Still Believe In Me was done, since the doubletracked lead vocal was the result of Brian tracking his voice again on the mixdown. Unless Mark did some of his magic a la Wouldn't It Be Nice and isolated the vocal himself. Either way, the mix sounds great.

I never really appreciated the stereo mix of Pet Sounds until I heard the OMR/MFSL SACD. It finally sounds "right".

I think Super Audio CD is actually a 1-bit medium.  Seriously.
