Pretty cool stuff.  I'm sure the language barrier held them back a bit, but that's pretty cool nevertheless.  I'm sure there's something we dont' quite catch like the three of them are sisters or something. 

Unfortunately though.... my brain is only so big, so I dont' have enough space to fully appreciate Jap-Pop.  I wish them well on the other side of the world. 

Shonen Knife were pretty well known in the US in the 90s.  Toured with Nirvana, got played on MTV, etc.  Not terribly obscure as these things go.

Of all the things in Japan that could make a person say "wtf", I'm a little surprised that all it took for NewGuy was a pretty straightforward, faithful Beach Boys cover, sung in English by a traditional pop/rock band.

Okay it's not entirely to my taste but at least they've given it their own arrangement and not tried for a note-for-note duplication as many others always seem to do:

Now I see on that link it's an recorder-keyboard with wooden flutes and not a type of melodica, which has reeds inside just like a harmonica or an accordion.

Brazilian Portuguese is more romantic and beautiful sounding. Plus, it contains the word, 'saudade.'

Is there a cover version of Busy Doing Nothing in Portuguese or Brazilian Portuguese?
I'd like to know, since I've just made one in Dutch.
