To be honest, Hunt's final contribution to the "Exodus" thread lays the agenda plain for all to see. Whoever shares that beef, I dunno. People's grievances may vary. But it pissed me off a bit.

I'm not convinced of the grave offence caused by the 2 PM's from Chuck to Laurie that were quoted in February's thread. I saw none of the correspondence from either party leading up to those. I'd like to know how often she instigated any exchanges. An equal measure, I'll bet.

Actually, right up to those two PMs, she was very cordial with me.  Thanked me for warning her about various negative elements on the old Male Ego board.  Asked me to delete a thread in the Sandbox.  Then, boom.   And, the things that I was doing that upset her, are now commonplace on the Shop.  The more layers you peel back from the onion, the more you find, and the more it stinks.

Whole package deal for 700 bucks at Best Buy (15 inch flat panel, the box, and printer), got this model instead of one with less RAM and harddrive space it bc they had a misprinted sign hanging on it. Add in the new spiffy wifi and tax and it got me to 800 bucks.

I went to Radioshack and got some RCA line and ran the comp out to my stereo so I can rock it in my room, juke box style. The real bitch is gonna be ripping all of my cds onto here. The other computer was my roomie's and I only put some stuff on there. That project starts tomorrow afternoon, once I get a good chair.

Right now, Im AIMing myself a bunch of files from the roomie's computer.

Wow.  That's sweet, and a great price.  The CPU and amount of RAM are outstanding.  The only thing I'd suggest is to get a video card at some point and not use the on-board video.  But that's not casting aspersions on your new computer, it would chew up and spit out either of mine.

Well to be honest Chuck, I have little plan for gaming or anything taxing on this thing, that's what Nintendo is for. This is for music and the boards. Im quite simple really.

I’d been away from the boards for weeks, no real reason, it’s just I can do that without my life collapasing, so…

Upon my return all was well, I thought. I put up a post of me and my kids on a picture thread, chatted up a few folks, and went on with my day. I returned that night to see the thread vanished, as the entire sandbox was slowly being removed one thread at a time, really kinda pissed me off. I should not have taken it so personally, but I hate that sh*t anyway, never mind throwing in the deletion of my kids! So I go to the Smile Shop and start a thread to see what they knew. I was referred to the “Media Section” where hell’s fires raged and crucifixes burned! Well, sorta. I read of the new “harassment”, Ian told me it was awful, I asked Laurie about it, terrible. Jon was claiming the things in the PM were incredibly offensive. I assumed with so many testimonies that such was such. I was aghast, this crap ...again??!!, and write the above.

Then I saw the PM’s, as all did. I saw a guy defending himself about being harassing, not a guy harassing. I saw “you’re no Snow White”. I kept reading the PM’s to see what I was missing. I sent a PM to Laurie about it, she said it also had to do with a hot tub photo where she was naked. AH! I said, ok, THAT’S it. Well, turns out that happened… a year ago, and seemingly in posting since then everyone had gotten over it. No reason for a mutiny, no harassment, just some personal sh*t between Ian, Laurie, Charles, Jon, and who ever else ya want to throw into the equation. Laurie is a nice girl, I like her, always did, not sure if she really felt this, maybe just had a bad day, or was used as a pawn. Tough call.

So, my last post on Smile that night was a pretty clear sign that my support of the crusade was waning fast. When I returned to SS the next morning to jump back into it, the thread was gone, and I was not going to start a new one. I still had my beef with Charles, and I am not a fan of PM’s being read, as it was now the newly scampered to focal point of the mutiny, once others said "Hey all he said was 'you're not Snow White'". So, I left it alone. I've posted there a couple times, but the animosity in the air is palpable, so my lack of support in the end was obvoiusly noted, lol.

But, now that everyone is trying to pretend there was no mutiny, I wanted to mend my fences too. I apologize to Charles for the above spew. Laurie, here's to ya baby, still love ya!  ;D Ian, you’re a case, but I think you know that, as your returning now clearly displays.

There, all mended.

In closing, I think we have to remember that what we do and say on these boards does mean something. Our words that can damage, hurt, and slander. Perhaps we all need to be a little less cavalier in our actions.

Yes- I should have been clearer that I read PMs when I felt it necessary, when I received a complaint about someone, for instance.  I was surprised at the outrage over me reading them, though, because it was known by at least one person that I was able to read them, and that I was reading them. 

The matter has resolved itself, however, because 1) other people are running this board now, and 2) the behind the scenes squabbles that led to the complaints that led me to monitor PMs to make certain we didn't have another Professor incident occur stopped being an issue around Feb. 28.

Why the living hell are you folks bringing all this up again??

Sebastian has been trying for weeks to try to get a fight started, here. He really, for some reason, wants one, badly. I for one have no interest in giving it to him, and continuing the conflict. John, I know, feels the same, and Chuck I've spoken to at length, and he feels the same, too. We're all dropping the conflict here and now, and are trying our damndest to get on. Ian, I can only assume you feel the same about this endless nonsense -- it's distracting and stupid, and we should just drop it and get back to what we're on these boards to do -- talk about MUSIC.

So I'm saying it here and now: how about we all lay down our weapons, bury the damn hatchet, leave the battlefield, and if anybody wants to stay around and fire rounds into the air, let 'em.

You see, throughout this thing, I haven't been totally honest and upfront about my motivations and "buttons".
Here's the thing, here's me.
When I was 17, my best friend was raped by someone that me and my little "circle" (fucking puke) considered a trusted and cool person. And, la-dee-da, wouldn't you know it, the nice little ritual of blame-the-victim was played out in time-honored fashion, from classmates, "friends", parents and authorities alike. "Man, she gor HIGH with him, they were alone, she let him kiss her, what did she expect", yeah, yeah, blah blah, woof woof. And I was there to witness this and listen to her pain about it. One day, she didn't show up to school, I split, and found her in her bedroom with her wrists slashed. Luckily, it wasn't too late, I called the "authorities", she was patched up, and after a brief stay in a "special place", she came back, bloodied and scarred but back to a semblance of normalcy, school ended, and she is now a HAPPILY married mother of 2 in Suburbia, U.S.A.
And here's the thing, and I'll try not to go on too long:
Even before that, I never really liked men. Just an innate distrust. A lot of it was social, didn't like "guy" things, sports (got into that later), cars, etc. blah blah woof woof. My real friends were girls.
And when that happened, and I saw that everything I suspected was true, that men had an innate hatred and rage toward women, an urge to humiliate and degrade them, that was it for me and guys, really. Since then, don't like them, don't trust them, pretty much across the board.
But I can hide it and "get along" with men on a shallow level, in life and Internet life. But when a situation comes along (and believe me, I know that comparing what happened on the board with the situation I described is totally and completely inaccurate and dangerous), my kneejerk, my BUTTON reaction, is to believe anything the "victim" says. Period. For wrong or for right, that is where my sympathies lie.
And that, I am sure, led to my reaction in this situation. I really can't help it. I don't like, believe, trust or sympathise with men and their side of the story.
And that is wrong, I know. But it is the way it is.
And this is only for the 1 or 2 people enough interested enough to read it, and MAYBE, empathise. For the others, this is not for you. Ignore it, ignore me. Call the doctor.
Sorry to anyone for false accusations and undue rage.

Of course, someone will likely call me a hypocrite. Can't control that.  I admit my emotional response was not consistent with the gravity of the problems as seen.  If you can't admit being wrong in some degree, no one's going to be able to please anyone.  So hello, I am back, et cetera.

I said I didn't want to be involved but... imo any moderator should monitior PMs if there have been complaints and accusations of harassment or uncomfortableness or whatever.  Some of those who are criticizing some of Chuck's behavior shouldn't throw stones from their glass houses, again, imo.  That said, I'm glad it's being put behind us [you know, after my little rant here] and pals are coming back or have been back.
